About this role

Do you want to work with business-critical payment systems, modern cloud technologies, and large-scale test automation solutions? Join SEB and help shape the future of quality engineering within payment reporting.

SEB is more than a bank with an IT department. We are a technology-driven organization where innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning are at the heart of everything we do. From COBOL to AI and everything in between, we offer a diverse technology landscape and exciting opportunities to grow your career.

Together, we are building the future of financial services and creating technology that makes a real difference for our customers and society.

About the role

As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you'll join an agile team responsible for some of SEB's most business-critical payment reporting solutions. Our applications support high-volume payment processing and provide essential reporting capabilities across the bank.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of established banking systems and modern technology. You will play a key role in ensuring quality throughout the development lifecycle while shaping and advancing our test automation strategy.

We are looking for a senior technical engineer who enjoys building solutions, not only executing tests. You will develop and maintain automated test frameworks, create tools and interfaces that simplify testing for other developers and testers, and help us continue our journey towards greater automation and faster delivery.

You'll work across a diverse technology landscape that includes .NET, SQL Server, SEB's container platform, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Together, we are modernizing both our payment reporting platforms and the quality engineering practices that support them.

In this role, you will:

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for business-critical applications

- Build and enhance test frameworks, utilities, dashboards, and self-service testing tools

- Create reusable test automation capabilities that support both developers and testers

- Contribute to quality assurance across on-premises, containerized, and cloud-based environments

- Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and fellow testers throughout the software development lifecycle

- Drive improvements in test coverage, test execution, and quality metrics

- Help define best practices, standards, and technical direction for test automation within the team

- Support continuous integration and continuous delivery initiatives through automation

To thrive in this role, we believe you have:

- Extensive experience designing and implementing test automation solutions

- Strong software development skills in C# and the .NET ecosystem

- Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks and test tooling

- Experience working with APIs, databases, and integration testing

- Strong SQL skills and the ability to validate and analyze large datasets

- Experience working with high-volume, business-critical applications

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- The ability to work independently and take technical ownership of solutions

- A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement

It's a plus if you also have experience with:

- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud platforms

- Container platforms and modern deployment practices

- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

- Financial systems, payments, or reporting solutions

- Monitoring, dashboards, reporting tools, or test observability solutions

- Performance, load, or resilience testing

What we offer

- Challenging and meaningful work within critical banking infrastructure

- Opportunities to influence the technical direction of our test automation landscape

- Modern and agile ways of working

- A collaborative environment with experienced and knowledgeable colleagues

- A flat hierarchy where initiative and new ideas are encouraged

- Hybrid working opportunities and flexible work arrangements

- Continuous learning and career development opportunities
