We are seeking a Sales Administrator for a 12-month fixed-term contract who can provide administrative support across all High Street channels in the UK, is passionate about books and has an eye for detail.

Your team:
You’ll be part of an award-winning and vibrant global sales team focused on sales of books in the English language. Our focus is on maximizing the global reach of our fantastic publishing programme and fostering strong relationships with partners throughout the bookselling chain, from major retailers and distributors to independent booksellers.
Your role:
As a Sales Administrator you will provide crucial administrative assistance in all facets of our day-to-day work supporting the High Street accounts (including the independent bookshops, TG Jones, Waterstones, and WHS Travel). You will report into the Head of Sales, and will assist with inputting data across systems, managing orders, completing retailer submission grids, and preparing for retailer meetings. This role offers significant opportunities in publishing and sales, building connections across various departments and imprints within the business.
Your key responsibilities:
- High Street support: High Street support including retailer submission grids and financial claim management.
- Meeting & customer preparation: Supporting the High Street sales team with meeting prep and all customer requests.
- Sell-in materials: Supporting the sales team on sell-in material in conjunction with trade marketing.
- Order management: Placing orders including event orders.
- Promotions & submissions: Supporting retailer promotions and award submissions.
- Sales inquiries: Responding to general sales queries over the phone and on Team Desk.
- Editorial copywriting: Writing copy for the Bookseller’s monthly editorial features /Buyer’s Guide.
- PR & event reporting: Creating PR and events round ups for the team and retailers.
Essential experience, abilities and knowledge you’ll need to succeed:
- Administrative experience: Experience working in an administrative role.
- Organization & attention to detail: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Communication & relationship-building: Ability to communicate effectively while building and maintaining effective working relationships, both internally and externally.
- Systems & tools: Experience working with systems and tools such as MS Office, Google Workspace, and Biblio.
- Team collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Mindset & approach: A highly positive approach with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Literary & market knowledge: A passion for books, knowledge of the publishing market and a specific interest in Pan Macmillan’s publishing list.

This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-contract role, and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
