About the role

As a Reefer Ocean Freight Operator, you will play an important role in coordinating and optimizing international ocean freight shipments, with a strong focus on temperature-controlled cargo. Working as part of a collaborative logistics team, you will manage the end-to-end transportation process, including vessel bookings, documentation, customs coordination, shipment monitoring, and communication with customers and supply chain partners.

Your work will help ensure the safe, compliant, and timely movement of sensitive cargo, including pharmaceuticals, healthcare products, perishables, and other temperature-controlled commodities. By combining operational expertise, customer focus, and a commitment to quality, you will contribute directly to reliable supply chain performance and an excellent customer experience.

How you will contribute

- Manage and coordinate end-to-end FCL reefer and ocean freight shipments, including bookings, customs clearance, transportation, invoicing, and documentation.
- Support the growth of the reefer business by delivering efficient import and export operations while maintaining high service standards.
- Monitor shipment progress, resolve operational issues proactively, and help ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective delivery.
- Build strong relationships with customers, carriers, terminals, transport providers, and other supply chain partners to deliver excellent service.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, service quality, and cost control.
- Monitor operational performance, maintain accurate reporting, and support budget management through effective planning and execution.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, international trade requirements, transportation legislation, company policies, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues across locations and functions to balance workloads, share expertise, and support business continuity.
- Promote the use of integrated DP World solutions and internal logistics services to support end-to-end supply chain delivery.
- Ensure GDP-regulated pharmaceutical and healthcare shipments are handled in accordance with applicable Good Distribution Practice requirements, maintaining documentation, managing deviations where necessary, and protecting cold chain integrity throughout the shipment lifecycle.

What you will bring

- Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain operations, or a related field, including experience with FCL reefer or temperature-controlled transportation.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, Incoterms, shipping documentation, and temperature-controlled logistics principles, including GDP requirements for pharmaceutical and healthcare products.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Confidence using freight management systems, Microsoft Office applications, and other operational technology tools; fluency in Dutch and English is required, while French and/or German language skills are an advantage.
- A collaborative, customer-focused, and continuous improvement mindset, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to solving operational challenges.
