What You Will Do
The Billing & Coding Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership and operational oversight for clinic and pharmacy billing and coding functions. This position is responsible for staff performance, workflow management, charge and claim accuracy, timely submission and follow-up, denial prevention, accounts receivable resolution, and compliance with payer, coding, pharmacy, and organizational requirements. The Supervisor collaborates with Revenue Cycle leadership, Clinic Operations, Pharmacy Operations, providers, Payer Relations, Utilization Review, Finance, Compliance, and other departments to support complete documentation, accurate reimbursement, accelerated cash collection, and an effective patient financial experience. The Supervisor develops staff, monitors key performance indicators, addresses workflow barriers, and leads continuous process improvement across both billing areas
The Opportunity
Supervise clinic and pharmacy billing and coding staff, including scheduling, timekeeping, workload allocation, coaching, and performance management.
Ensure claims and encounters are reviewed for complete, accurate, and compliant demographic, provider, authorization, coding, documentation, product, quantity, unit, and payer information.
Ensure clinic and pharmacy claims are submitted, corrected, appealed, and followed through final resolution within payer and organizational timelines.
Review complex, high-dollar, denied, rejected, or underpaid claims and coordinate escalation with internal leaders and external payers.
Maintain compliance with federal and state requirements, payer contracts and policies, coding guidance, pharmacy billing requirements, and organizational procedures.
Perform or coordinate quality reviews and audits, track corrective actions, and provide targeted education to staff and other stakeholders.
Analyze operational and financial performance, report results to leadership, and take action to improve clean-claim rates, reimbursement, cash acceleration, and aging.
Collaborate effectively across Clinic, Pharmacy, Revenue Cycle, Finance, Compliance, Information Technology, and other departments
Requirements
- EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, health information management, or a related field preferred. Professional billing or coding certification such as CPC, CCS, CPB, or an equivalent credential is required or must be obtained within the timeframe established by the organization. Pharmacy billing or specialty pharmacy revenue-cycle training is preferred.
- EXPERIENCE: Seven to ten years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle, including clinic/professional billing and pharmacy or specialty pharmacy billing; prior supervisory or team-lead experience required. Requirements

This position is open to residents of the State of Indiana, and requires routine presence at our Center in Indianapolis, IN. Frequency of on-site presence is dependent upon role and department needs.
