About this role

Job Description:

As an intern, this person will gain broad exposure to Wealth Management Services, including Trust, Brokerage, Private Banking, Investments, Retirement Plan Services, and Operations. This person will assist with client service, research, account administration, and special projects while learning how the teams work together to help clients manage, preserve, and grow their wealth.

Qualifications: This person should be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field, or have equivalent education or experience. Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, communication, customer service, organization, and discretion are essential. This person should be self-motivated and eager to learn all aspects of Wealth Management.

Principal Responsibilities:

- Rotate through Trust, Brokerage, Private Banking, Investments, Retirement Plan Services, and Operations to understand each area’s products, services, responsibilities, and client needs.
- Support Retirement Plan Services and gain education in retirement plan administration, plan sponsor support, participant service, and fiduciary processes.
- Assist with Trust, fiduciary administration and Brokerage, including account documentation, client and beneficiary service, distributions, reviews, and recordkeeping.
- Observe Private Banking relationship management and assist with client research, meeting preparation, service requests, and coordination of banking and Wealth Management solutions.
- Assist the Investments team with market and security research, portfolio and performance reporting, investment meeting preparation, and other analytical projects.
- Support Operations through account onboarding, system and data maintenance, transaction processing, quality-control reviews, reporting, and workflow improvement projects.
- Gain knowledge of banking and wealth management products and services and develop effective working relationships throughout First Bank & Trust.
- Utilize Wealth Management systems and observe how they integrate into client service, investment, compliance, and operational processes.
- Develop skills in professionalism, financial analysis, decision-making, customer service, communication, confidentiality, and teamwork.
- Complete special projects and attend client, investment, operational, or departmental meetings as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and honesty, especially in dealing with customer information.
- Act in accordance with FBT policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook.
- Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in required compliance training and all meetings deemed appropriate by supervisor.
