356166 Patient Care Nursing Assistant

Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General where we have been providing world-class care to the community for over 100 years. At Akron General, you will work and learn from some of the best caregivers, provide and receive multitudes of support and appreciation, and create the steppingstones toward a rewarding career with one of the world's most respected healthcare organizations. We strive for patient-centered care and comfort, and we are committed to serving the community and treating our patients as family.

Akron General’s 52B Orthopaedic/Surgical Unit is a post-surgical unit that specializes in knee and hip replacement, shoulder, ankle, and spinal surgeries. Patients in this unit require immediate and frequent mobilization, which decreases their hospital length of stay and post-surgical complications. Frequent mobilizations have also helped decrease narcotic reliance post-surgery. This is especially important with patients who fall in the Comprehensive Joint Replacement (CJR) 90 day bundled payment. Patients who are immobilized related to spinal surgery or from long bone traction require more assistance for all activities to include bathing, linen changes, toileting and frequent turns to decrease hospital acquired pressure ulcers.

As a Patient Care Nursing Assistant, you play an integral role in ensuring patients continue receiving the best treatment possible. You will find a welcoming and hands-on environment where caregivers encourage education, mutual support and teamwork. Each day, you have numerous opportunities to make a difference in your community. In this role, you will gain a wide variety of skills you can use in advanced positions or other departments within the Cleveland Clinic system.
