Opportunity to Join Our Future Focus Internship Program as an ERIE Experience & Customer Service Intern

As an ERIE Experience & Customer Service Intern , you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful business priorities within Experience or Customer Service while developing a broader understanding of how the two areas support ERIE and the experiences we deliver.
Interns may have a primary alignment within Experience or Customer Service while participating in shared learning, networking, developmental and cross-functional opportunities across Experience & Customer Service.
The specific scope of each internship is intentionally flexible. Projects, assignments and areas of focus will be determined by Program and Business Leads based on current business priorities, business need and developmental opportunities available at the time of the internship.
Who Should Apply?
- Applications are accepted from college students currently enrolled at an accredited college or university to pursue a four-year degree or to complete a master's degree program full-time.
- A four-year degree student should be completing sophomore, junior or senior year based on applicable 2027 Future Focus eligibility requirements.
- A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 is highly preferred.

Position Summary
Under close supervision, performs functional duties for assigned division. Performs special projects as required.
Under the guidance of Experience & Customer Service leaders and assigned mentors, contributes to meaningful projects and assignments aligned with current business priorities. Gains practical business experience and a broader understanding of how Experience and Customer Service contribute individually and collaboratively to the experiences ERIE delivers. Performs special projects as required.
Interns may be primarily aligned with either Experience or Customer Service based on business need and program planning. Specific assignments, projects and areas of focus will be determined by Program and Business Leads based on priorities and needs leading into the internship.
Duties and Responsibilities
As an ERIE Experience & Customer Service Intern, you may:
- Contribute to projects and assignments aligned with current Experience & Customer Service business priorities.
- Develop an understanding of Experience & Customer Service and how the functions contribute individually and collaboratively to ERIE's broader business.
- Collaborate with leaders, mentors, team members and cross-functional partners in support of assigned work.
- Gather, organize and analyze information to support assigned projects, business decisions and recommendations.
- Apply problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to assigned business opportunities and challenges.
- Develop recommendations, solutions or deliverables appropriate to assigned work.
- Participate in meetings, business observations, job-shadowing opportunities and other developmental experiences as appropriate.
- Communicate project progress, findings and outcomes to appropriate stakeholders.
- Develop professional communication, analytical, presentation, relationship-building and business skills through hands-on assignments and mentorship.
- Participate in shared Experience & Customer Service internship activities that encourage learning and connection across both areas.
- Participate in Future Focus Internship Program activities, networking opportunities and professional-development experiences.
- Perform additional assignments and special projects as determined by Program and Business Leads.
Duties and Responsibilities (cont'd if applicable)
Work Location & Schedule
Intern work location will be based on primary business-area alignment. Interns primarily aligned with Customer Service will report to ERIE's Westport Office location in Millcreek, Pennsylvania. Interns primarily aligned with Experience will report to ERIE's Home Office Campus in Erie, Pennsylvania. Interns may participate in meetings, developmental activities, project work or other program experiences at either Erie location as appropriate.
Intern schedules and hours will be determined based upon business needs and alignment between the intern and assigned leader/mentor, consistent with the overall requirements of ERIE's Future Focus Internship Program.
Business-area alignment, project scope and developmental experiences will be established by Experience & Customer Service Program and Business Leads based on current priorities and business need.
- Performs various tasks related to the achievement of division objectives.
- Conducts research and gathers information and assists in creating presentations as required.
- Analyzes data and reports findings.
- Verifies and enters data into appropriate system, and updates electronic files.
- Provides clerical and administrative support as needed.
- Completes special projects as required.

Qualifications
Minimum Educational Requirements
- High school diploma, or equivalent, required.
- Pursuit of Bachelor's degree with completion of sophomore year in a relevant field required.
Additional Experience
- Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
- Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software preferred.
