Position Summary
The Business Development Lead supports growth by identifying opportunities, shaping commercial insights, and coordinating pursuit activities that help advance customer engagements and account expansion. This role develops opportunity support materials, aligns solutions with customer requirements, and partners across internal teams and external stakeholders to strengthen pursuit readiness and business relationships.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in business development, commercial analysis, proposal coordination, and stakeholder engagement, along with the ability to translate market and customer insights into actionable growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop opportunity support materials, market insights, and commercial inputs to advance qualification, pursuit planning, and account growth activities.
- Coordinate proposal development activities, including submission requirements, stakeholder contributions, and review timelines, to ensure complete and timely responses.
- Align business development efforts with customer requirements, organizational capabilities, and commercial priorities to improve solution fit and pursuit readiness.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external contacts to support opportunity progression, maintain account continuity, and expand business relationships.
- Analyze market potential, competitive positioning, customer trends, and commercial data to identify priorities and inform business development strategy.
- Support service line positioning and business development messaging to strengthen customer engagement, partnership development, and growth opportunities.
- Resolve routine commercial and coordination issues within established guidelines to maintain momentum across active opportunities and account support activities.
- Contribute to cross-functional collaboration that supports business development planning, pipeline progression, and account management efforts.
- Provide knowledge sharing, guidance, or training to support effective business development activities across teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Economics, Commerce , or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience in sales operations, revenue operations, commercial analytics, CRM, account management, lead generation , or a related field.
- Knowledge of business development principles and opportunity identification.
- Knowledge of customer requirements analysis and solution alignment.
- Knowledge of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive intelligence.
- Knowledge of pipeline management and commercial opportunity tracking.
- Knowledge of proposal and bid support processes.
- Knowledge of stakeholder engagement and relationship management practices.
- Knowledge of commercial data analysis, trend identification, and performance indicator tracking.
- Knowledge of financial data interpretation for business decision support.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret market, customer, and commercial data to support opportunity decisions.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to negotiate effectively within defined commercial parameters.
- Ability to support cross-functional collaboration to advance business opportunities.
- Ability to use standard business tools for reporting, analysis, and presentation development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business, Communications, Economics, Commerce , or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Certified Strategic Account Manager (CSAM) or equivalent certification.
- HubSpot Sales Software certification preferred.
- Salesforce Administrator or equivalent certification preferred.

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
