About this role
<label for="customfield_27505">About the Role: </label> We are looking for a technically strong leader to manage our infrastructure engineering function, including DevOps, systems, network, and related engineering teams.
This is not a pure people-management role, and we are not looking for a DevOps engineer who simply moved into management. We need someone with enough technical depth to make sound infrastructure decisions, challenge architectural approaches, identify systemic weaknesses, and at the same time lead multiple teams and take ownership of infrastructure as a whole.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
Lead DevOps and related infrastructure engineering teams.
Build and continuously improve processes across the Infrastructure / Operations function.
Own the reliability, performance, scalability, and operational quality of production infrastructure.
Participate in key infrastructure and architecture decisions.
Define and drive the infrastructure roadmap and technical debt reduction.
Establish and improve incident management, postmortem, and recurring-problem management processes.
Develop monitoring, observability, capacity planning, and disaster recovery practices.
Improve production change management and increase infrastructure automation.
Coordinate infrastructure work with backend engineering, security, and other engineering teams.
Hire, develop, and evaluate engineers and technical leads.
Define technical standards and operational requirements for production systems.

Technical Background
We expect a strong engineering background and a practical understanding of how modern production infrastructure works.
You should have a solid understanding of:
Linux and operating system fundamentals;
TCP/IP, routing, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and modern network architectures;
Kubernetes and container infrastructure;
virtualization and bare-metal infrastructure;
Infrastructure as Code and configuration management;
CI/CD and deployment processes;
monitoring, metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting;
high availability and fault-tolerant architectures;
storage, databases, and distributed systems at a level sufficient for infrastructure decision-making;
security practices for production infrastructure;
backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
We do not expect the Head of Infrastructure to configure servers or Kubernetes clusters on a daily basis.
However, you must be able to go deep into technical problems when necessary, ask engineers the right questions, understand trade-offs, and independently evaluate proposed technical solutions.
- Leadership Experience
We are looking for someone who:
has experience managing DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure, or similar engineering teams;
knows how to lead through technical leads and senior engineers rather than becoming a bottleneck for every decision;
can balance reliability, delivery speed, infrastructure cost, and technical debt;
can turn infrastructure problems into a clear, prioritized engineering backlog and systematically address them;
can establish effective processes without creating unnecessary bureaucracy;
can lead major production incident reviews with a focus on systemic causes and prevention rather than blame;
can communicate complex technical topics effectively to both engineers and company leadership.
- What Success Looks Like
We expect Infrastructure to operate as a mature engineering function rather than a reactive team handling an endless stream of operational requests.
Infrastructure should have clear ownership, architecture, technical standards, a roadmap, and measurable reliability and efficiency metrics.
The Head of Infrastructure should maintain a clear understanding of the current state of the infrastructure, its major risks and constraints, and have a concrete plan for its continued development.
