Job Summary
The sky is no longer the limit as Nidec takes its technology off the ground and into the Aerospace market. As a Mechanical Design Engineer with the Nidec Aerospace team, you will have the opportunity to apply and develop your expertise to design electric propulsion systems for the battery-powered aircraft that will enable the world to sustainably and efficiently get from point A to point B.

Job Description

,Responsibilities include:

- Lead the design of Complex Electronic Control Hardware   including Processors,   FPGAs   and other devices to achieve   high performhigh-performanceance   motor control capabilities.

- Capture of HW requirements to fulfill equipment and system   specificathardwarehigh-speed,ion .

- Design of electronic circuits for aerospace   applications   based on HW requirements.

- Selection   of electronic devices.

- Capture of electronic schematics and design of PCB layouts.

- Simulation and validation of electronic   circuits   design.

- Management of PCBs BOM (bill of material) and support of devices procurement.

- Support circuit board assemblies prototyping.

- Perform   prototypes   commissioning.

- Use of ARP4754A, DO254 and other aerospace standards for the development of circuit   boards   assembly (CBA).

- Support the system engineering and equipment engineering in the system/equipment architecture definitions.

- Work with the equipment team, software   team   and other hardware engineers during the design and integration of the circuits into the equipment.

- Run tests for formal verification of electronic hardware.

- Perform reliability analysis for the designed hardware.

- Write analysis reports and test reports.

- Manage problem reports.

- Perform root cause analysis and design changes.

Required   Knowledge   & Skills :

- Experience on Board designs with   Processors,   DSPs   and/or Programmable Devices (FPGAs, PLDs )

- Experience   designing Hardware for   high speed and   high-performance   data acquisition and signal processing

- Expertise   in Hardware solutions for   digital   communication such   A429, RS-485, CAN,   SPI, I2C, Ethernet, etc.

- Expertise   in Fault Tolerant designs ( DAL A or ASIL D designs ) – Redundancy, Monitoring, Protection   strategies.

- Experience with motor control drivers   a nd control methods

- Experience with requirements-based development and phase-gate processes.

- Experience in design of electronic circuits   using Altium

- Experience in   design of   circuit boards.

- Experience in   capture of   HW requirements and requirements validation.

- Experience in verification of   electronic hardware.

- Experience in reliability analysis of electronic circuits.

- Willingness to work with, and travel to, domestic and international design and manufacturing locations when necessary.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities ( proficiency   levels aligned to job level)

Minimum   Requirements

- Bachelor’s or Master’s or PhD’s degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering

- 15 + years of experience in electronic circuits design

- E xperience in electronic equipment development   for a utomotive ,   a erospace   or equivalent high criticality industrial applications (nuclear, railway, etc.)

- Experience with   Altium,   Spice

Preferred

- Experience in   development   of   fault-tolerant   electronic   control boards   for aerospace.

- Experience with ARP4754A and DO-254 process.

- Experience in   design of   motor drivers (inverters) and high voltage equipment.

- Experience   MATLAB, Simulink
