We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. Reporting to the Assistant Controller and Controller, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to CoolIT's continued integration into Ecolab, a Fortune 500 public company. What You Will Do
- Work closely with the Assistant Controller and Controller to support CoolIT's continued integration into Ecolab and its public-company accounting and reporting environment.
- Play a key role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial reporting deliverables.
- Own assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts, proactively investigating and resolving variances, discrepancies, and accounting issues.
- Support complex accounting matters by researching accounting guidance and developing practical solutions for new and evolving business challenges.
- Analyze financial results and identify trends, risks, and opportunities to provide meaningful insights to Finance leadership.
- Support external audits, tax compliance activities, internal reporting, and public-company reporting requirements.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and other business functions to understand transactions and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, reporting capabilities, and system functionality.
- Lead or participate in process improvement, automation, ERP, and finance transformation initiatives.
- Assist with the development and documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Provide guidance, review, and mentorship to junior accounting team members.
- Take ownership of new projects and evolving priorities while demonstrating strong judgment and adaptability in a changing business environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or active enrollment in the CPA program is a must.
- Previous public accounting experience.
- 4-7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, including month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Must have experience in a U.S. GAAP or IFRS reporting standards and environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including analysis of large and complex data sets.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt effectively in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation.
- Experience in a manufacturing, technology, or other complex operational environment.
- Experience with NetSuite and/or SAP ERP systems.
- Experience supporting a public-company reporting environment.
- Experience with finance transformation, process improvement, or automation initiatives.
- Exposure to internal control frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and drive issues through to resolution.
