The Banquet Setup Staff member is responsible for preparing banquet and event spaces according to event specifications and established hotel standards. This position ensures meeting rooms, ballrooms, and function areas are clean, organized, properly arranged, and ready for guests.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, physically capable of handling banquet equipment, and committed to providing a professional and welcoming environment for every event.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

- Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, diagrams, and function requirements.

- Arrange tables, chairs, staging, podiums, linens, dance floors, registration tables, and other banquet equipment as required.

- Set tables and event spaces neatly and consistently according to hotel standards.

- Ensure banquet and meeting rooms are clean, organized, and presentation-ready before guest arrival.

- Break down event spaces following functions and prepare rooms for upcoming events.

- Move, store, and organize banquet tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies properly.

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet storage and service areas.

- Assist banquet servers and culinary staff with event preparation and breakdown as needed.

- Ensure hallways, service areas, entrances, and guest-facing banquet spaces remain clean and free of unnecessary equipment.

- Respond promptly and professionally to reasonable guest and event needs.

- Communicate room changes, equipment needs, damages, or other concerns to banquet leadership.

- Handle hotel equipment carefully to help prevent damage and unnecessary replacement costs.

- Follow established safety, sanitation, and food-handling procedures when applicable.

- Follow proper lifting and equipment-handling practices.

- Work cooperatively with Banquets, Culinary, Stewarding, Engineering, Housekeeping, and other hotel departments.

- Perform additional banquet and Food & Beverage duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

- Previous banquet, hotel, restaurant, event setup, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.

- Ability to follow banquet event specifications and room setup instructions accurately.

- Strong attention to detail and organization.

- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

- Professional appearance and positive guest-service attitude.

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with changing event requirements.

- Comfortable communicating with supervisors, coworkers, and guests.

Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to:

- Stand and walk for extended periods.

- Regularly bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift while performing banquet setup duties.

- Safely move banquet tables, chairs, carts, staging components, and other event equipment.

- Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.

- Work safely in banquet rooms, storage areas, service corridors, and back-of-house environments.
