About this role
The editorial team, will be responsible for delivering quality thought leadership, owning the process from strategy through to distribution and performance analysis. The content strategist will write and edit thought leadership pieces for our business lines in the Commercial & Investment Bank. You will join a group of writers, content strategists, video and audio producers to deliver integrated content campaigns across our web, social, email, video and podcast channels. In this role, you will also work closely with client marketing leads, subject matter experts and senior executives across the Commercial & Investment Bank to develop strategic content plans to support established business goals and priorities. In serving as a steward for our brand, you will also deliver innovative creative and ensure consistency across all platforms.
As a Marketing Content Writer on the Commercial and Investment bank team, you will be responsible for the creation, implementation and evaluation of content strategies for the CIB’s lines of business. You will produce a steady stream of measurably high-impact content on a broad range of topics ranging from economic analysis, market trends and client deals to sustainability themes. This position requires a willingness to learn and apply data-driven insights to write engaging copy across channels and to ensure consistency of brand tone and voice. You should also be detail-oriented and committed to meeting tight deadlines while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams such as client marketing, SEO and social media teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Supporting stakeholders in defining a strategic agenda of content topics that align with the business goals and objectives
- Pitch, draft and publish research content that transform dense reports and white papers into digital-friendly formats
- Writing, editing and publishing multiple formats from long to short form in a deadline-driven environment
- Using SEO best practices to generate organic traffic to jpmorgan.com
- Helping to analyze and interpret content marketing metrics (i.e. time spent on page, unique visitors) to optimize existing content and drive insights for future projects
- Managing content approvals process with business stakeholders, Legal and Compliance, Creative teams, etc.
- Pitching, producing and distributing various content types including short and long-form articles and related email, and social media posts with target audience in mind
- Staying up to date on financial news and global affairs and perform research on various topics to write timely, relevant articles
- Maintain a deep understanding of content developed by teams across J.P. Morgan, including outside the CIB, to ensure narrative consistency for target audiences
- Own KPI tracking and progress monitoring for assigned content workstreams, and report performance results to content & business stakeholders
- Craft compelling XLOB narratives that showcase the breadth of client relationships within the CIB
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- BA in journalism, communications, English or related field preferred
- 5+ years’ experience editing, proofreading and writing articles; superior writing skills in English
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across the business, marketing colleagues and leadership
- Knowledge of digital marketing tactics, including SEO, email marketing and web analytics
- Demonstrated ability to work with visual designers, developers and videographers
- Understanding of tone and voice and how to adapt both for various digital channels including social media, web and email, as well traditional channels
- Strong storytelling skills; capable of transforming complex financial concepts into engaging, relevant content
- Comfort working under tight deadlines and ability to work on multiple high-priority pieces simultaneously
- Flawless accuracy in terms of grammar and information; meticulous attention to detail
- Enthusiastic self-starter with a desire to excel
- Curious, strategic and able to connect individual deliverables with overarching business priorities
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Experience with content management tools preferred
- Experience with AEO, SEO and GEO, and ability to apply best practices to content ideation, drafting and optimization
- Experience creating, delivering and evaluating multi-channel content strategies a plus
- Hands-on experience with content management systems and analytics dashboards
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple project deadlines simultaneously and flexibility to prioritize and reprioritize projects based on evolving business needs
- Experience writing for a B2B audience preferred
