Job Summary: Responsible for repairing and finishing parts by sanding, buffing, and applying gelcoat and putty to meet quality standards. This role involves reviewing work for defects, performing detailed surface repairs, and using pneumatic and power tools to achieve a high-quality finish. The position requires maintaining a clean and organized workspace, following instructions, and adhering to all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, hands-on experience with sanding and repair techniques, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Use a sander and putty.
- Review work
- Mix Gelcoat and putties when making repairs
- Buff and sand parts as needed
- Inspect parts to meet quality standards
Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience using hand tools/sanding
- Experienced with various pneumatic and power tools
- Able to follow instructions
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Capable of working in a non-climate-controlled environment
- Extremely detail-oriented
- Able to bend, squat, climb and stand for extended periods of time
- Must wear proper safety equipment including a respirator when needed
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Autobody repair experience a plus!
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature.
- Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to climb into and out of the interior of boats.
- Must be able to wear proper safety equipment, including a respirator when necessary.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary.
- This is a safety-sensitive position.
- The ability to see details at close range.
- Be able to use and maintain small hand tools (grinder, scraper, razor knife, blower, etc.)
- This is a safety-sensitive position.
