About the role:
As a Sub-Project Manager you will be responsible for delivering assigned tasks/projects within the agreed terms & conditions, fulfilling task/project objectives and stakeholder expectations (delivery to time/cost/quality). Provides support and control for an organisation's projects including utilisation of project management processes/tools/templates to ensure WPMR compliance; carrying out key activities assigned; gathering and reporting consolidated project status and financial information to leadership.
You will report to the Senior Programme Manager and be located at Westlakes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Making Environmental, Health, Safety & Quality (EHS&Q) a number one priority.
- Assisting the Project team to achieve performance goals related to scope, schedule, and cost.
- Accountable for following and understanding project management processes
- Assisting with contractual requirements and using knowledge to look for opportunities to increase margin through change requests.
- Mitigation of risks and translation of these risks and opportunities into improved margin.
- Measuring performance against baseline, meeting schedule and cost commitments.
- Identification and escalation of issues before they become problems.
- Tracking and management of the agreed project deliverables
- Demonstrate effective teamwork, communication skills and manage projects according to the project management standards.
- Ensure the training/qualification requirements for the associated project complexity is completed prior to the start of the project as defined in the Westinghouse Project Management Requirements procedure W2-10.2-101 and the Project Management Development Program W2-10.1-101
- Assist in preparing a Project Execution Plan and Requirements Management Plan based on the project scope. Revise the Project Execution Plan and Requirements Management Plan when there is a significant change
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years on similar position
- Strong leadership abilities and team building skills.
- Strong communicator.
- Decision making with minimal supervision.
- Progress towards achieving membership of a professional Project Management institute, such as PMI/APM.
