Summary:

The Data Analytics Platform Architect is responsible for building foundational data infrastructure essential to supporting data ingestion, data sourcing from distributed systems to data management. This role requires understanding the needs of today’s enterprises engaged in digital transformation efforts. This role requires a mix of technical acumen and team collaboration skills to drive administration, management, and support of the platform.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

What you’ll be doing:
- Design and build real-time analytics solutions using industry standard technologies, work with solution architects to align solutions with technology direction.
- Keep everyone from individual contributors to top executives in the loop about progress, communicating across organizations and levels.
- Monitor data, resources, and applications to review and evaluate the health and performance of the data analytics platform
- Participate in implementation of scalable, extensible, and highly available platforms capable of processing large volume data sets that enables actionable insights
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams, data engineering, analysts, and operations teams to identify requirements that will derive the creation of smart platform to build and execute data pipelines
- Responsible for crafting, building, integrating, and maintaining analytics data platform on hybrid cloud infrastructure
- Enable continued innovation and progress within the platform through research and development
- Build self-serve and one touch tooling capabilities to the analytics platform
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams and be an influencer in their decision making
- Work collaboratively with data operations team to develop monitoring and alerting on data platforms and services
- Proactively manage platform costs by tracking resource consumption and manage spend across hybrid cloud environments
- Work with internal and external auditors on platform audits and related corporate security initiatives
What you’ll bring:
- Understanding of complete data analytics stack and workflow, from ETL to data platform design to BI and analytics tool
- Experience in programming and building large scale data/analytics solutions
- Extensive hands-on expertise with SQL and SQL analytics
- Knowledge of and experience with large-scale database technology (e.g., Snowflake, Exadata, AWS EMR, Hadoop etc.)
- Experience building data pipelines and SQL for Snowflake and general understanding of the Snowflake database architecture
- Experience with Snowpipe for Snowflake data ingestion is a plus
- Ability to design and implement effective analytics solutions and models with Snowflake
- Experience working with SQL and common programming languages, like Python
- Experience with non-relational platforms and tools for large-scale data processing
- Familiarity and experience with common BI and data exploration tools (e.g., Cognos, Tableau)
- Experience and understanding of large-scale infrastructure-as-a-service platforms (e.g., Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure)
- Experience using AWS services such as S3, Kinesis, Elastic MapReduce, Data pipeline
- Should have worked on Agile scrum or Kanban methodology
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Qualifications:

· 5+ years of IaC, Data Platform, Data Engineering, AWS experience & delivering BI and analytics solutions
· 7+ years of IT industry experience
· 5+ years of experience & proficiency with Python, Shell Scripting
· 5+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake platform implementation, administration, and optimization.
· Experience in AWS services like IAM, S3, KMS, Cloudformation, EKS
· Experience in Terraform, git, JIRA
· Strong knowledge of SQL, understanding of subqueries, able to write SQL code sufficient for most business requirements for pulling data from sources, applying rules to the data, and stocking target data
· Proven track record in troubleshooting data pipelines and addressing production issues like performance tuning, permission issues
· Can create clear and concise documentation and communications
· Can document technical specs from business communications
· Ability to coordinate and aggressively follow up on incidents and problems, perform diagnosis, and provide resolution to minimize service interruption
· Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
· Effective in cross-functional and global environments to manage multiple tasks and assignments concurrently with effective communication skills
· A self-starter who can work well independently and on team projects
· Experienced in analyzing business requirements, defining the granularity, source to target mapping of the data elements, and full technical specification
Education and/or Experience:

· Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
· Certifications:
o AWS Certified Solutions Architect
o SnowPro Core Certification and/or or SnowPro Advanced Architect Certification
o AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect
o Oracle Certified Professional and/or Microsoft Certified Database Administrator
