The Data Protection Security Investigations Analyst 2 works with EIP stakeholders and Humana’s teams to identify high risk insider activity and ensure appropriate controls are in place to mitigate potential data loss or malicious activity. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

The Data Protection Investigations Analyst (P2) supports enterprise Data Protection Operations through level two alert triage, investigation support, evidence review, and stakeholder coordination. The analyst evaluates alerts, logs, user activity, system indicators, and related evidence to identify potential data exposure, unauthorized movement, policy violations, and insider risk.

The analyst partners with Enterprise Information Protection, Humana Resources, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and business teams on investigations, security reviews, control questions, and evidence requests. The role strengthens Data Protection Operations through accurate case documentation, disciplined queue management, evidence organization, process improvement, and consistent execution.

A key focus is providing enterprise-aligned support to subsidiaries and affiliated businesses while maintaining consistent investigation, evidence-handling, documentation, escalation, privacy, and compliance standards.

- Assess events using user activity, data sensitivity, destination, control action, business context, and historical patterns.
- Coordinate additional review or escalation within Threat Management & Response, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Human Resources, and business stakeholders.
- Maintain objective, evidence-based documentation that supports consistent, defensible decisions.

Incident Coordination, Escalation, and Stakeholder Support

- Coordinate response and escalation when an investigation identifies elevated risk, a potential incident, or the need for specialized review.
- Partner with Threat Management & Response, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Human Resources, and business teams to resolve investigations and reduce data-loss risk.
- Respond to inquiries about DLP alerts, data classification, control behavior, approved exception handling, security reviews, and operational processes.
- Communicate findings, limitations, and recommended next steps clearly to technical and business audiences.

Documentation, Metrics, and Continuous Improvement

- Maintain accurate case notes, investigation summaries, standard operating procedures, runbooks, knowledge articles, and triage materials.
- Compile operational data on alert and investigation volume, service-level performance, queue aging, case quality, exception reviews, subsidiary support, compliance evidence, and control effectiveness.
- Identify recurring control issues and opportunities to improve triage consistency, service-level performance, evidence handling, automation, and repeatable workflows across enterprise operations.
- Meet established service levels, maintain complete and accurate case records, reduce avoidable queue aging, and escalate blockers or emerging risk promptly.

Required Qualifications
