About this role

We are seeking an experienced Utility Laborer to join our team and support underground wet utility construction projects. This position requires prior hands-on experience working in excavation trenches installing and assisting with underground utility systems, including water, sewer, and storm drainage.

Responsibilities

- Assist crews with the installation of underground wet utilities, including water mains, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems
- Work safely in and around trenches, excavations, and utility installations
- Load and unload materials, tools, pipe, and fittings
- Assist with pipe laying, utility placement, grading, and backfill operations
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other construction staff to ensure project success
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in construction practices
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Required: Previous experience working on underground wet utility crews in the ditch
- Required: Experience installing or assisting with water, sewer, and/or storm drain systems
- Ability to work safely around trenches, excavation equipment, and underground utilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and working in all weather conditions
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team
