Position Summary
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing inspections across packaging, production lines, incoming materials and manufacturing processes to ensure all products and components meet company and FDA standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of Stryker's quality systems and ensuring regulatory compliance across all product lines.
What You'll Do
- Perform packaging, line, incoming and manufacturing inspections of mechanical and electromechanical products and component parts.
- Ensure raw materials, in-process and finished products or components meet company and FDA standards.
- Follow defined inspection techniques and procedures, working from engineering schematics and blueprints to perform accurate checks and tests.
- Comply with all documentation, FDA procedures and policies.
- Inspect packaging, labelling and literature to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Interact with customers and vendors, both in person and remotely, to resolve inspection and component issues.
- Accurately record inspection results to ensure proper handling of accepted and rejected products.
- Contribute to the development of quality systems working instructions.
- May help devise and utilise standard and non-standard inspection procedures.
- May lead shop floor management activities on a rotation basis with other associates.
- Perform all required tasks to ensure the provisions of the quality system are met.
- Make on-the-spot decisions that may affect immediate operations and have a company-wide impact.
- Carry out all other duties as assigned by manager.
What You'll Need
- High school diploma required.
- Quality Assurance training preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet multiple deadlines while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Strong mental focus and accuracy in a highly detailed working environment.
- Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions in English.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit and remain on feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, push and pull in excess of 50lbs required weight limits.
- Comfortable operating machinery in a moderate to high noise environment.
