We are looking for a dedicated, team-oriented HVAC Technician to join our Facilities Technician team at the Orbit One Vacation Villas location in Kissimmee , FL!
Work Type: Full-time, year-round. Hourly.
Work Hours: 40 hours a week, 8-hour shifts.
Work Schedule: 8AM-5PM.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Those with an EPA 608 Certification & 2+ years of hands-on HVAC experience are preferred.
Position Summary:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential and/or commercial environments. This role ensures systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable codes and regulations. The technician diagnoses mechanical and electrical issues, performs preventative maintenance, and provides excellent customer service by explaining system performance and recommending solutions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using testing equipment and technical manuals
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and longevity
- Inspect HVAC systems and components (compressors, motors, ducts, thermostats) for proper operation
- Repair or replace defective parts such as compressors, wiring, condensers, and sensors
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Other Facilities responsibilities as requested by management.
Safety and Accident Prevention
- Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings

- Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and longevity
- Inspect HVAC systems and components (compressors, motors, ducts, thermostats) for proper operation
- Repair or replace defective parts such as compressors, wiring, condensers, and sensors
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations and safety guidelines
- Use proper ventilation when working with chemicals, gases, or cleaning agents
- Avoid direct exposure to refrigerants to prevent burns or respiratory issues
- Properly label, store, and dispose of hazardous materials
- Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety policies at all times
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and respirators when required
- Maintain awareness of job site hazards and take proactive steps to minimize risk
- Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near-misses promptly
Physical Demands
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials weighing up to 50–75 pounds (or more with assistance)
- Stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods of time during installations and repairs
- Climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs to access rooftops, ceilings, and elevated systems
- Crawl, kneel, crouch, and work in tight or confined spaces such as attics, crawlspaces, and ductwork areas
- Reach overhead and work with arms extended for prolonged periods
- Use hands for fine motor tasks such as wiring, component assembly, and tool operation
- Work in various positions, including bending and twisting frequently
- Work in extreme temperatures, including hot attics, cold outdoor environments, and varying weather conditions
- Tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, noise, and chemicals (with appropriate PPE)
- Perform tasks in both indoor and outdoor environments
Preferred Qualifications

- Certification from an accredited HVAC or technical training program
- EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal or appropriate type)
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, or repair
- Experience with both residential and commercial HVAC systems
- Knowledge of energy-efficient systems, smart thermostats, and modern HVAC controls
