JOB SUMMARY
Launch your mechanical maintenance career with ONEOK as a Mechanic - Associate in Watford City, North Dakota. In this hands-on role, you will assist with the inspection, maintenance, installation, and repair of critical equipment that supports natural gas gathering, processing, compression, and pipeline operations. Working alongside experienced mechanics, you will help maintain engines, compressors, pumps, generators, valves, and other fixed and rotating equipment while ensuring safe, reliable operations across our facilities and field locations.
This position is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals with experience using hand and power tools and performing equipment maintenance and repairs. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and servicing equipment, maintaining maintenance records and inspection reports, securing parts and supplies, and supporting daily operational needs within the coverage area. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, the ability to read and interpret technical documents and equipment manuals, and the willingness to respond to operational needs in a fast-paced field environment.
This role is based on-site in Watford City, ND, and candidates must reside within approximately one hour of the reporting location. The expected schedule consists of four 10-hour days, working either Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, with participation in an on-call rotation from Wednesday to Wednesday approximately once every 11 weeks. Day travel throughout the coverage area is required.
In addition to a competitive compensation package, this position includes a $1,500 monthly geographical allowance, eligibility for a 7% short-term incentive plan, and 6% profit sharing, providing employees the opportunity to share in the company's success while building a rewarding career with a leading energy infrastructure company.

Assist with activities related to mechanical work on equipment at compressor, pipeline, storage, gathering, fractionation and/or gas processing facilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Assist with mechanical work on fixed and rotating equipment at various locations including, but not limited to: Internal combustion, diesel, natural gas powered engines and electrical drivers
- Compressors, pumps, generators, turbines, valves, electrical equipment, and well equipment
- Service, maintain, install and repair structural, mechanical, electrical and/or well equipment
- Order and/or secure parts and supplies
- Maintain, prepare and/or interpret reports and/or records including, but not limited to: Work logs and service orders
- Inspection reports
- Engine/equipment maintenance and repair records
- Pressure readings
- Material and supply orders
- Engine and compressor oil analysis reports
- Drive and ensure maintenance is complete on company vehicles
- Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.
