An exciting opportunity to join the Transfer Agency Global Regulatory Team as a Vice President. The Team is composed of AML/KYC subject matter experts across Dublin and Luxembourg.
As a Fund Servicing Transfer Agency Vice President within the first line of defense, the role is responsible for supporting the overall robustness of the Anti–Money Laundering and Counter–Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF) framework within Transfer Agency, ensuring procedures and systems remain up to date in line with regulatory requirements across the locations where JPMorganChase operates as a delegated fund administrator.
For Traditional and Alternative Funds domiciled in Luxembourg, Ireland, Denmark, Jersey, Guernsey, the Cayman Islands, and the US, you will be the escalation point for sanctions cases and complex queries that require detailed knowledge of KYC requirements and restrictive measures under applicable legislation. You will act as the key point of contact for client/MLRO due diligence, as a coordinator for internal and external audit testing, and deliver AML/KYC training to onshore and offshore operations teams.
As part of the Transfer Agency Global Regulatory Team, your function will also be to perform checker quality reviews of complex investor due diligence and to assess any applicable Know-Your Customer (KYC) requirements and tailor-made solutions. This includes controls covering anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions screening, transaction monitoring alerts relating to potential money laundering, terrorism financing, fraud, bribery or corruption in a highly regulated and dynamic environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Keep abreast of regulatory change, industry trends, and regulatory focus areas including AMLA, CIMA, JFSC, GFSC, and FinCEN publications
- Assess how regulatory changes impact the business, monitor progress, and support operationalization across Transfer Agency
- Support operational change management, including recommendations to implement applicable changes in a compliant and controlled manner
- Provide support to Transfer Agency Operations and clients on complex escalations requiring regulatory expertise; support case handling related to regulatory requirements and implementation
- Drive enhancements to systems, transaction monitoring controls, and processes supporting both the AML/CTF framework and regulatory reporting (where required)
- Lead client calls for AML/CTF framework discussions and/or investor case reviews
- Design and maintain AML/KYC procedures, including documentary matrices across EMEA, the Channels Islands, the US, and the Cayman Islands
- Manage end-to-end sanctions cases including initial assessment, preventive measures, escalation, coordination with Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) SMEs, and reconciliation
- Coordinate internal/external audit exercises, support audit discussions, and manage resulting actions where required
- Support projects, migrations in/out, new product launches, and related regulatory/control readiness
- Provide technical training to the team and operational stakeholders
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
- Strong academic and/or professional qualifications
- 8+ years’ extensive experience in the fund services industry in relation to global investor and fund bases in Luxembourg, Dublin/Ireland, and the Cayman Islands
- In-depth knowledge of AML/KYC/sanctions controls and understanding of fund due diligence performed by delegated administrators across multiple regulatory regimes
- Expertise in European and local regulations and their applicability to Transfer Agency
- Understanding of the application of the risk-based approach and Transfer Agency responsibilities
- End-to-end understanding of PEP, sanctions, and adverse media screening
- Solid relationship-building skills across central and aligned functions; ability to coordinate cross-functional delivery
- Proven analytical and organizational skills with an operational risk-and-controls mindset and attention to detail
- Solution-oriented and autonomous, with client-facing capability and AML/CTF training (facilitation) skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills (English), especially the ability to articulate complex issues to senior stakeholders and client FCC teams
- Solid analytical skills and the ability to deliver relevant and pragmatic advice
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
- Multi-year work experience in a similar position within Audit, Financial Crime Compliance, and/or Risk departments
- Transfer agency experience
- Knowledge of core Transfer Agency systems and how the different systems interact
- Ability to make decisions, multitask, and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Project management skills would be considered a distinct advantage
