The Leidos Defense Group is seeking a Tech II Shipboard Installer at our Chesapeake, VA office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the ILC mission. In this mission we conduct maintenance, modernization, and installation of ASW sonar systems in support of our customer.

Responsibilities – Work you’ll do:
- Understand & interpret ship installation drawings
- Planning cable routes & runs
- Conduct WAF / TUMS / Lockout/Tag-outs.
- Cableway inspections
- Cableway installation, equipment removal & installation
- Removal & installation of various cable types
- Opening & closing of MCT’s/MCP’s & the associated documentation & testing
- Cable termination, hardwired connections, & connector fabrication.
- Cable testing to include cable continuity & megger testing
- Cable & Cableway management, cable dress-in, banding, & cable tag installation
- Adherence to all safety regulations & procedures applicable to task
- Completion of required documentation, OQE, & paperwork
- Mentorship of junior team members on safety, workmanship, & best practices
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
- HS diploma or equivalent and 3 years of direct experience conducting field installation projects.
- Fiber Optic cable handler certified to 8477552A.
- Fiber Optic Connector qualified.
- Copper Connector Qualified Mil Standard.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education – Favorable if you have:
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid Passport
- Connector Fabricator Qualified (Copper and or Fiber)
- OSHA 10
- VSRA
Clearance Required:
- Ability to maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

## Pay Range:
Pay Range $40,300.00 - $72,850.00
