The headquarters of MechoSystems, which employs over 500 people worldwide, is located in Long Island City, N.Y., with manufacturing facility in the U.S. and Mexico. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Shipping Team Leader at our Manufacturing Facility in Edison, NJ. Standard shift of 9:00AM-5:30PM with overtime extending the end time as needed. There is also Frequent Saturday work during our busy season.
Job Purpose: Reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor. Responsible for cooridinating the operations of the Shipping Department to ensure all deadlines are met. Works with both Warehouse and Production Teams to pull work orders and maintain daily records for orders

- Work with both Warehouse and Production Teams to pull work orders and maintain daily records for process completed paperwork in various systems to ensure proper routing and carrier details are selected.
- Preparing and schedule all shipments for each individual carrier LTL & FTL.
- Communicate with the CSR and the various carriers to provide the necessary information required to ensure proper routings based on the shipping guidelines and requirements.
- Coordinates and oversees all international orders.
- Keep organized daily logs & spreadsheets detailing daily shipments and fork truck inspections.
- Answering and assisting office personnel in email & phone inquiries including: expedited/priority/international orders.
- Oversee and assist all functions related to Warehouse dock staff and loading/unloading procedures.
- Coordinate various outbound dedicated weekly trucks.
- Coordinate weekly customer pick up lists received from interplant transfer trucks.
- Maintain plant 5S standards to ensure a safe plant environment including but not limited to practicing good housekeeping, cleanliness, and proper tool and equipment storage.
- Keep organization of finished goods and products in staging area daily.
- Lead root cause analysis for any issues that arise to drive corrective actions.
- Assist in monthly safety audits when assigned
- Participate in continuous improvement and safety programs such as Suggestion program, We Care, Caught in the Act, Gemba walks, etc.…
- Perform other duties as assign by the Leadership Team.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ year in shipping and logistics management in a Warehouse environment preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience interacting with cross functional team including but not limited to Operations, Project Management, Traffic Department, and various carriers
- Ability to operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience in manufacturing preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills
- Demonstrated problem resolution and root cause analysis
- Proactive and Self-motivated with business perspective and a sense of urgency
