About this role
We’re seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst to serve as a strategic partner between business and technology, leading complex initiatives from concept through delivery. In this role, you’ll translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, analyze complex systems and data, and help drive decisions across critical applications and integrations.
You’ll serve as a subject matter expert and mentor, partnering across business, development, architecture, data, and infrastructure teams to solve complex problems and deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business strategy.
Essential Functions
- Lead the analysis and documentation of complex business and technical requirements, translating business needs into comprehensive functional and technical specifications for enterprise systems, enhancements, and integrations.
- Serve as a thought partner to business and technology leaders by evaluating solution options, identifying dependencies and trade-offs, and recommending approaches that balance scalability, performance, risk, cost, and business needs.
- Use advanced SQL, backend data analysis, and application and database logs to validate system behavior, investigate complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and support defect resolution across production and non-production environments.
- Serve as a senior technical liaison between business stakeholders, development, architecture, data, and infrastructure teams to establish a shared understanding of requirements, system behavior, data flows, and technical dependencies.
- Lead analysis and ongoing support of complex system integrations, including APIs, event-driven architectures, file-based interfaces, middleware, ETL processes, and data exchanges between internal and third-party systems.
- Perform comprehensive impact and dependency analysis for proposed system, integration, and data changes, identifying downstream effects across applications, platforms, integrations, processes, and reporting.
- Provide leadership during incident response and major defect resolution by validating system behavior, coordinating investigative efforts, analyzing data and logs, and guiding teams toward effective resolution.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical and system documentation, including end-to-end workflows, data lineage, process flows, interface specifications, system dependencies, and operational playbooks.
- Lead and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by developing test scenarios, validating backend results, confirming data integrity, documenting defects, and ensuring expected system and integration outcomes.
- Partner closely with developers and engineers throughout the software development lifecycle to clarify requirements, reproduce issues, validate solutions and fixes, and confirm successful implementation.
- Support production releases and implementations, including validating data loads and integrations, assessing release readiness, monitoring post-deployment performance, and responding to critical issues.
- Identify patterns in system defects, data quality issues, integration failures, and operational challenges, and proactively recommend process, configuration, or architectural improvements.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to Technical Business Analysts and other team members, promoting best practices in requirements analysis, documentation, testing, and technical problem-solving.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by helping establish and enhance standards, templates, tools, and analytical approaches across the organization.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline, or commensurate work experience, required
- 7 years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or in a closely related technical role, including experience supporting complex enterprise systems and integrations, required.
- Advanced SQL skills with demonstrated experience querying complex relational databases for data validation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and testing, required.
- Experience using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or comparable database management tools, required; experience with monitoring and logging platforms such as Datadog, preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with system integrations, APIs, data flows, backend processes, and enterprise applications, required.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development environments and partnering throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), required.
- Hands-on experience with work management, requirements documentation, and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, with experience developing technical documentation, workflows, and process flows.
- Experience within financial services, fintech, consumer lending, or another highly regulated industry, preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), or Agile-related certifications, preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-friendly language for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to independently manage complex analysis efforts while effectively collaborating across multiple teams and stakeholder groups.
- Availability to work outside of core business hours, including nights and weekends, as needed for system testing, upgrades, releases, and production implementations.

This is an office-based position that requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time. The employee will work on a computer approximately 90% of the time.
