Description
POSITION SUMMARY
To support the company in the manufacture and supply, on time and in full, of deep drawn components in line with customer requirements. Initiate Tooling standardization and refurbishment work to increase efficiency, reduce costs, simplify processes and improve product quality. Taking ownership of existing tooling in service, press cleanliness, continuous improvement ideas from start to finish.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Undertake all duties and responsibilities in full accordance with the company’s Health & Safety Policy and Procedures
- Support the company in the implementation of consistency and standardization with the presses and tools within operations
- Responsible for helping to improve Redraw OEE and process reliability through work done in role
- Responsible for press base conditioning work and start up of quality parts
- Providing feedback from work completed on improvements to equipment and process
- Maintain professionalism during collaboration of work with other departments
- Adopt a data driven, proactive approach to improve operational performance
- Track and report on improvement tasks and ideas to the Operations Team
- Participate in the M4di meetings to review PQDC boards. Use the data collected from the PQDC boards to suggest improvements.
- Assist in promoting and developing TPM and 5S activities throughout interdepartmental operations (Production, Maintenance, Tooling)
- Maintaining records, documentation and organization of data through manual and digital means
- Perform as a team player and proactively support the continuous improvement process by attending workshops and contributing in problem solving meetings to find root causes
- Develop practices, routines and solutions to help improve productivity and product quality
- Help in generating and training of standard operating procedures related to work carried out
- Analyzing operational equipment performance data to highlight areas that need improvements and upgrades
- Support production needs in the event of lack of resources or inventory

Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience in a Toolmaking discipline; deep drawing experience in a manufacturing environment strongly desired
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Strong self motivator and disciplined for repeated tasks; able to work independently as needed
- Effective communicator and problem solving skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Team player, dedicated to overall company performance and the ability to get along with others
- Sound process thinker with structured problem solving experience
- Proficient at using computers to communicate through emails, search for files/drawings, able to participate on Zoom calls
- Reliable attendance on-site required
- Ability to work various shifts if needed, to support a 24/7 operation
- Must be at least 18 years or older
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, lift and crouch very frequently
- Ability to reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, use tools and equipment, manipulate, handle or feel small parts for inspection
- Occasionally required to sit in order to work on a computer
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 35lbs. occasionally
- Ability to inspect small parts visually and with the use of magnifying equipment
- Strong depth perception to set up equipment
- Ability to communicate and listen
