We are seeking a Patient Access Representative to support our Behavioral Health programs. This role is responsible for ensuring that the patient experience in accessing care at BILH BS is efficient and welcoming, and that patient confidentiality is respected and patient safety is preserved. Ensures that all proper patient financial and demographic information is obtained and processed so BILH BS is fully reimbursed for clinical services provided. Handles patient questions and requests accurately and efficiently, ideally with first-call resolution, or by directing to other departments, based on the original purpose of the question and any other questions or requests subsequently disclosed by the patient.

Job Description:

- Remote position with a Monday-Friday schedule, 10:00 AM-6:00 PM, and every other Sunday required (Sunday-Thursday schedule during assigned weekends).

Key Responsibilities:

- Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
- Confirm insurance eligibility and apply appropriate coverage and guarantor information.
- Communicate financial responsibility and refer patients to Financial Counseling as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between Behavioral Health programs and Patient Access.
- Coordinate coverage changes and authorization updates.
- Maintain accurate records within the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of related healthcare, patient access, registration, or customer service experience.
- Strong understanding of health insurance; behavioral health experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Call center experience preferred.

Pay Range:
$20.50 - $27.59

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
