Summary

This position exists to classify and organize pallets of finished product for inventory keeping and tracking. This includes to compile, maintain and coordinate product inventory with cold storage operation, coordinating with operations the reconciliation of restricted or held product. This position will also audit the condition of the packaging material of the product as it is being transferred for storage. This position will train and participate in the development of product keeping policies and procedures for the factory quality and warehousing systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate in support of Operations, the disposition of restricted or held product

- Maintains accurate records of all finished inventory and re-handle/restricted product movement to and from Operations line flow to cold storage warehouse

- Enters and retrieves data of finished and re-handle/restricted product activity into a computer terminal and/ or company supplied handheld devices

- Performs various physical finished product inventories as required; taking physical measurements of packaging track or case damage; and compiling data in various reports for management

- Verifies clerical computations against physical count of product and adjusts errors in computation, count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies

- Working in a high paced environment alongside large capacity fork-lift traffic

- Performs sanitation duties to maintain a tidy and clean workplace. This includes participating in the monthly major clean up in the factory

- Evaluate customer or interplant samples prior to shipment or as needed

- Utilize computer and computer programs to communicate, document, and track shift information and ensure that all documents and reports are completed accurately in a timely and efficient manner

- Ensure self-compliance with Company polices and plant procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement

- Ensure self-compliance with the company’s third-party cold storage facility’s policies and procedures

- Maintain good relationship with the company’s third-party cold storage facility to communicate equipment failure or repair

- Maintain necessary level of communication with team members and other support groups and does so in a participative management style conductive to operational goals

- Maintain supplies in the ticket office

- Will assist in training other plant personnel

- Knowing the general layout of the facility and third party cold storage, including muster points for evacuation

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Relevant Experience

- High School diploma or equivalent is required. Two-year degree is preferred.

- Warehousing or Inventory keeping experience preferred.

- A combination of education and experience will be considered.

- Must obtain job qualification certification within 3 months of hire.

- Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in a manner to successfully perform the job duties.

- Must be able to perform math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages).

- Must have basic computer skills.

Other Information

In the performance of work, the incumbent is required to follow local, state, federal safety rules and regulations and the safety policies and procedures of Simplot Company.

Must be able to work around and consume products containing soy, wheat, and dairy.
