MAINTENANCE SUPPORT

Reports To: Fleet Manager
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Support employee is responsible for assisting with the general maintenance, upkeep, and operational needs of The Arc of Madison centers and group homes. This position performs routine maintenance and minor repairs, assists with the delivery and organization of supplies, supports facility safety and inspection requirements, and coordinates maintenance-related services as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties and responsibilities are considered essential to the position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

- Maintain punctual and reliable attendance in accordance with the established work schedule.

- Pick up and deliver donations to The Arc of Madison.

- Deliver supplies to centers and group homes as needed.

- Assist with routine maintenance issues at centers, including:

Replacing light bulbs and filters.

- Replacing emergency light batteries.

- Assisting with pest control needs.

- Assembling furniture and equipment.

- Addressing minor plumbing issues.

- Performing other minor maintenance and repair tasks.

- Assist with routine maintenance and minor repairs at group homes.

- Assemble furniture and other items as needed at centers and group homes.

- Assist in maintaining centers and group homes in a condition that supports successful annual fire and safety inspections.

- Repair and paint minor drywall damage.

- Assist with unloading supplies and materials from vendor trucks.

- Assist with organizing and restocking supply shelves.

- Assist with pulling and preparing supply orders for group homes and centers.

- Assist with purchase order paperwork and the ordering of supplies and materials.

- Assist with coordinating service calls and repairs with outside maintenance and repair contractors.

- Assist Fleet Support with vehicle maintenance, including transporting vehicles to and from service locations.

- Follow all applicable organizational policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

- High school diploma or GED required.

- Previous experience in maintenance, facilities support, general repair, or a related field is preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS

- Current valid Alabama driver's license required.
