Assistant Cost Manager

Based - Raynesway Derby

Hours - 40hrs per week (Monday to Friday)

What this job involves :

As a Assistant Cost Manager at JLL, you'll be part of a dynamic team that embraces innovative ways of working and prioritises opportunities to strengthen and advance your career. In this role, you'll assist in managing costs for construction projects, prepare estimates, work collaboratively with project teams to ensure financial success. We believe the most effective teams are built when everyone is empowered to thrive, and as such, you'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while developing your skills in a supportive environment.

What your day-to-day will look like :

• Assist in preparing final costing sheets and accounts

• Assist Administrators in financial queries

• Confirm Contractor tender and contract documents

• Participate in site visits to monitor progress

• Collaborate with project teams to analyse and report on cost data

• Assist in the preparation of interim and final accounts

• Contribute to value engineering exercises to optimise project costs

Required Qualifications :

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Understanding of construction principles and timelines

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies

• FM background and understanding of Infrastructure Maintenance

Preferred Qualifications :

• Working towards professional accreditation (e.g., RICS)

• Familiarity with infrastructure maintenance contracts and procurement methods

• Experience with cost estimating software

• Knowledge of sustainable construction practices

• Understanding of BIM (Building Information Modelling)
