About this role

About the Role

Join an early-stage legal technology team as a Founding Product Engineer, building core software that helps transform how legal work gets done. You will work closely with attorneys and AI engineers to turn real-world legal workflows into reliable, production-ready products, while helping establish engineering practices as the team grows.

What You'll Do

- Build and own full-stack product features, from data models and backend systems to interfaces used by attorneys and clients.
- Partner with attorneys and AI engineers to translate legal workflows and review playbooks into software.
- Make pragmatic architecture and tooling decisions that support rapid development and future growth.
- Write maintainable code, support production reliability, and take ownership of features through deployment and ongoing use.
- Contribute to engineering culture, standards, and hiring as the team expands.

What We're Looking For

- One to three years of experience building and shipping production software, ideally at an early-stage company or as a founder.
- Full-stack development skills, including TypeScript and React, a modern backend stack, and relational databases.
- Hands-on experience building with AI or large language models, professionally or through personal projects.
- Experience owning features end to end, building data models and user-facing interfaces, and making sound engineering trade-offs under time constraints.
- Strong product judgment, communication skills, and comfort working with ambiguity in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment.
- Legal technology, contract management, document processing, or experience working directly with domain experts is helpful.
