About this role
The Assistant Vice President of Support Services provides strategic and operational leadership for services that support patients, visitors, team members and the physical environment at Inova Fairfax Hopsital. This role leads Engineering, Environmental Services, Food Services, Patient Transport, Security, Parking, Safety and Volunteer Services, with accountability for achieving Environment of Care (EOC) Committee regulatory requirements, performance targets and safety goals.
The AVP develops and executes business strategies, drives service excellence, ensures regulatory and legal compliance, manages financial performance and collaborates with key stakeholders to maintain a safe, efficient and welcoming care environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide executive leadership and operational oversight for assigned support service departments and functional areas.
- Lead the Environment of Care Committee and ensure annual EOC goals, regulatory metrics, targets and performance measures are achieved.
- Develop and implement business strategies that support organizational priorities, operational effectiveness and service excellence.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, safety and legal requirements.
- Oversee departmental financial performance, resource allocation and operational planning.
- Partner with leaders and stakeholders across the organization to address operational needs and improve the patient, visitor and team member experience.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service quality, efficiency and satisfaction.
- Achieve annual user satisfaction survey targets.
- Ensure high-priority work orders are completed on the day issued, in accordance with established annual targets.
- Establish, review and revise performance standards; set clear expectations; provide ongoing coaching and feedback; and support accountability across assigned departments.
- Foster a culture of safety, service, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required (or relevant experience in lieu of degree equivalent to 4 years)
- 7+ years of relevant experience in support services or hospital operations roles
- 5+ years of leadership experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading support services in a large hospital within an integrated health system
