Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

The Deputy Program Manager, Engineering (DPME) is responsible for overseeing engineering projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and fostering cross-functional collaboration. The role involves managing engineering resources, resolving technical issues, and maintaining project schedules and budgets. The DPME also plays a key role in risk management, performance feedback, and project change management.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on technical leader with sufficient breadth across mechanical, electrical, electro-optical, software, hardware, and operational domains to augment or assume responsibility for a technical lead overseeing multiple engineering IPTs and programs.

What You Will Do:

- Lead the systems-engineering/project lifecycle including customer engagement, development of requirements, concept development, architecture, design, integration, verification, deployment, and sustainment.

- Elicit customer and user needs and distinguish operational needs from proposed solutions.

- Oversee development of system architectures, operational concepts, requirements hierarchies, interfaces, technical baselines, and verification strategies.

- Work with program management to handle customer negotiations and manage interpersonal dynamics.

- Apply project leadership principles, including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls for complex programs.

- Anticipate customer technology, process, and operational needs to develop mission critical solutions.

- Lead technical, design, customer, and management reviews; brief technical status, decisions, risks, and recommendations at the level of detail appropriate to the audience.

- Support proposals, technical volumes, basis-of-estimate development, technical risk assessments, and customer technical exchanges.

- Mentor engineers, develop technical leaders, delegate responsibility intentionally, and distribute critical program knowledge across the team.

- Develop and maintain engineering plans as required by the project.

- Ensure all project deliverables (including documentation) are developed with high quality and delivered on time.

- Ensure that all engineering processes adhere to established engineering practices.

- Ensure that total system is integrated, tested, and requirements are validated.

- Identify, develop, analyze, and report engineering project measures internally and externally.

- May manage direct reports and/or be assigned indirect reports for projects or programs.

- Conduct lessons learned after each major phase of the project and implement effective corrective actions as required.

- Manage the resolution of technical issues, communicate the resolution to all affected parties, and ensure that the resolution is carried out in all of the affected artifacts.

- Motivate the engineering team and provides a clear understanding of project goals.

## Salary Note
This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

## Combined Salary Range
USD $175,332.00 - USD $185,000.00 /Yr.
