Senior Manager, Relationship Management - Global Payments Network

The Senior Manager of Relationship Management facilitates strategic partner and merchant relationships across assigned territories or verticals in Mexico. Responsible for supporting network retention and volume expansion, this role critically contributes to joint account planning, identifies cross-sell and upside opportunities and conveys them to upper management, and serves as the primary liaison into Discover Global Network. You will work closely with senior business partners to optimize payment acceptance, resolve complex operational issues, and safeguard long-term portfolio revenue.

The ideal candidate will:

- Have proven experience managing key enterprise relationships in the financial services or payments space.
- Combine strategic consulting with strong relationship management skills to support the performance and long-term growth of existing account relationships. .
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving agility and self-discipline in a hybrid or remote work setup.

What You'll Do:

- Manage strategic, multi-faceted account relationships within assigned territories or verticals in Mexico to support long-term growth in DGN transaction volume.
- Support development and implementation of joint account growth plans, identifying opportunities to support the introduction of new products, capabilities, and payment programs.
- Serve as the principal liaison for merchant escalation management, coordinating internally with Risk, Operations, and Product teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and market trend analyses with account partners to improve DGN's share of wallet.
- Maintain accurate CRM data, including account tracking, relationship mapping, and revenue forecasting.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree.
- At least 8 years of experience in payments business development, sales, relationship management, or partner strategy.
- Intermediate - Advanced English fluency.

Preferred Qualifications:

- At least 9 years of direct account management or business development experience within FinTech, Credit, Debit, Prepaid, or Commercial Payments.
- Experience with technical payment processing, gateway integration, chip or NFC standards, or digital commerce solutions.

Travel: This position will be travelling up to 50% within Mexico.
