Job Description

At O-I, quality and food safety are fundamental to everything we do. We're seeking a leader who can drive compliance, strengthen quality systems, and ensure our manufacturing operations meet the highest standards across North America.

This role is responsible for leading O-I's Quality, Food Safety, and Regulatory Compliance Management Systems while serving as a key partner to manufacturing, quality, product safety, commercial, and supply chain teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong food safety expertise, audit leadership experience, and a passion for continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

- Own and continuously improve O-I's North America Quality, Food Safety, and Regulatory Compliance Management Systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and company standards.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for food safety, product safety, food-contact compliance, and regulatory requirements across the organization.
- Lead internal, customer, third-party, and regulatory audits, driving effective corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Monitor changing regulations and industry requirements, ensuring timely implementation and ongoing compliance across manufacturing operations.
- Oversee quality system documentation, certifications, compliance declarations, and regulatory reporting activities.
- Assess quality, food safety, and compliance risks while partnering with cross-functional teams to drive proactive solutions.
- Provide leadership, training, and performance insights that strengthen compliance, audit readiness, and quality execution across North America.
- Lead and mentor O-I's Project Engineer Development Program, helping develop the next generation of engineering and operational leaders.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years of manufacturing quality experience.
- Experience leading food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality management systems.
- Strong audit experience, including customer, third-party, and regulatory audits.
- Experience as a Plant Quality Manager or similar quality leadership role.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive compliance across multiple locations.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

- Food safety certification and/or food safety experience.
- Glass manufacturing experience.
- Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
- Commercial or New Product Development experience.

Additional Information

Salary Range :  The expected salary range for this position is between $150,000-$170,000 . Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Travel: 35-45% across North America
