Position Summary

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team is focused on industrial hygiene, safety engineering, environmental stewardship, fire protection, and occupational health. In the Environmental Technician role, you will engage with both internal and external stakeholders, industry working groups and regulators to ensure compliance with company, state and federal requirements.

As an Environmental Technician within the EHS Department, you will be responsible for supporting environmental operations both inside and outside of the Fab related to hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, semiconductor tool installations and deinstalls, emergency spills/leaks, inspections and field walks, and other day-to-day operations.

Role and Responsibilities

Here's What You'll Be Responsible For:

- Oversee bulk hazardous waste tank offloads and provide mechanical troubleshooting support as needed.
- Complete field inspections, including hazardous waste central accumulation areas, hazardous waste tanks, recycling areas, stormwater ponds, and SPCC components, using knowledge of environmental regulations (RCRA, stormwater, SPCC, etc.).
- Respond to emergency spills and leaks, coordinating with SAS's Emergency Response Team and SAS's third-party waste vendor to conduct the clean-up and decon, with spills/leaks occurring outside of normal work hours sometimes requiring overtime support.
- Conduct Fab tool sign-offs and decons in support of other departments.
- Complete field walks in support of upcoming projects, providing feedback on environmental risks and regulations.
- Manage project budgets and submit invoices to SAS Cost Team in a timely manner.
- Assist on other team projects as needed, to include work such as wafer shredding, environmental sample collection, and others.
- Communicate findings and escalate issues to the team and stakeholders as needed.
- Candidate should have strong problem solving capabilities, an understanding of general mechanics and ability to help troubleshoot systems, ability to institute new and innovative solutions, working environmental knowledge of hazardous waste and regulations, be self-motivated and driven, and have the ability to work well on a team.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's What You'll Need:

- 7+ years of experience in environmental operations support in areas such as hazardous waste management waste, spill response, and/or chemical management.
- Associates degree in Environmental, Science or closely related field preferred.
- Candidate should be physically fit and able to lift up to 40 lb, climb stairs, stand/work outdoors for extended periods of time (up to 50% of the day).

The current base salary range for this role is between $31.00 - $46.00/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
