Product Manager – Digital Products (Telematics & Innovation)

Position Summary:

Lead the strategy and evolution of Skyjack's Elevate telematics platform and connected products. Own the Elevate product roadmap and serve as a key contact with Skyjack’s telematics provider.

Performance Expectations:

- Define a clear product vision and prioritize enhancements based on customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, risk, cost, and global market requirements.
- Coordinate product updates, issues, commercial requirements, technical changes, and continuous improvement activities.
- Lead cross-functional Teams across all regions.
- Establish product and service performance measures, monitor platform adoption and customer experience, and use data to improve reliability, usability, cost, and customer value.
- Engage directly with rental companies, fleet managers, service teams, and end users to understand and respond to requirements.
- Develop and deliver product demonstrations and training for Elevate and related digital services.
- Maintain a working understanding of Skyjack machine control systems and available telematics data, including CAN bus signals, diagnostic information, asset status, location, utilization, battery or engine data, and service-related insights.
- Coordinate API and data-integration requirements.
- Monitor global requirements related to connected products, data access, privacy, cybersecurity, cellular connectivity, software lifecycle support, and digital product compliance.
- Track market trends, competitor offerings, enabling technologies, and regulatory developments affecting construction equipment telematics and connected fleets.
- Develop recommendations for product packaging, subscriptions, pricing, service levels, commercial terms, and value propositions in partnership with business leaders.
- Represent Skyjack at customer meetings, supplier reviews, industry events, and relevant external working groups as required.
- Support product launch, product improvement, and cross-functional development projects as they relate to telematics, innovation, connected products, or the application of new and emerging technologies.

Credentials:

- University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, or another relevant technical field.
- Product management, digital product, telematics, IoT, connected equipment, fleet technology, or technical program experience.
- Experience working with external technology providers and internal cross-functional teams through product development, release, and support activities.
- Experience in construction equipment, rental, off-highway equipment, automotive, industrial IoT, or fleet management would be an asset.

Desired Characteristics:

- Working knowledge of APIs, system integrations, data exchange, and cloud-based applications.
- Understanding of CAN bus protocols and how it is used in connected equipment applications.
- Understanding of cloud data streaming, databases, dashboards, data quality, and connected-product architectures.
- Strong product leadership skills with the ability to balance customer experience, commercial value, technical complexity, risk, and delivery timing.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, technical specialists, support teams, and senior leaders.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences and business needs to technical teams.
- Strong problem-solving and issue-management skills, with disciplined follow-through during high-priority customer or platform issues.
- Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple initiatives in a global environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Able to travel both locally and internationally, including for extended periods.
