Job Title: Benefits Representative Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Benefits Representative to provide day-to-day support and information related to benefits for faculty, staff, and retirees. This role requires a thorough understanding of benefit plans, programs, and policies, and involves assisting with enrollments, resolving inquiries, and ensuring the smooth operation of benefits processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide research and information on benefit plans, programs, and policies to faculty, staff, and retirees.
- Review and approve online enrollment in Health & Welfare Plans, ensuring all required documentation is received.
- Respond to client inquiries and complaints to ensure timely and courteous resolution of benefits-related issues.
- Act as a liaison between university employees and external benefits contacts to resolve eligibility, claims, and enrollment issues.
- Review and triage all assigned reports.
- Utilize internal and external databases for cross-referencing inquiries and determining resolutions.
- Maintain high standards of customer service.
- Be proficient in using software applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, and graphics packages.
- Apply knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations affecting benefits.
- Attend designated training programs, seminars, and meetings.
- Serve on workgroups and committees, as requested.
- Perform special duties and projects, handling confidential information appropriately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Two years of benefits-related experience.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Experience with HR benefits and customer service call centers.
- Proficiency in Workday and customer support.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, as permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Work Environment
This position requires working on-site four days a week, with one day remote, at 1101 E 33rd Street, Baltimore, MD. The role offers a contract until at least the end of the year.

This is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms. If eligible, the benefits
