Job Summary:
Micron is seeking a highly motivated Materials Supervisor leading a 10B Chemical Warehouse and Raw Materials Inventory organization. In this role, you will coordinate both warehouse operations and team development. You will manage chemicals, gases, and raw materials securely and in line with regulations to support Manufacturing and Facilities operations efficiently.
The Materials Supervisor is responsible for workforce planning, training, inventory accuracy, service delivery, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, operational performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position plays a critical role in driving safety, operational excellence, customer service, and supply continuity across the organization. Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse team members through performance management, training, cross-training, succession planning, and ongoing feedback to foster a high-performing and accountable team environment.
- Manage staffing, workload prioritization, and daily warehouse operations to ensure uninterrupted support for Manufacturing and Facilities while achieving operational objectives.
- Promote a safe, compliant, and ethical work environment by ensuring adherence to EHS, OSHA, DOT, security, hazardous materials, PPE, lockout/tagout, and other regulatory requirements.
- Drive incident prevention and risk reduction through safety training, audits, hazard identification, corrective actions, reporting, and proactive safety initiatives.
- Oversee the receipt, storage, transportation, inventory management, and disposition of chemicals, gases, and raw materials while maintaining compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through transaction controls, cycle counts, reconciliations, audit readiness activities, SOX compliance, and management of obsolete, excess, and non-conforming materials.
- Apply data, operational metrics, automation, AI-enabled tools, and continuous improvement methodologies to improve safety, quality, efficiency, cost, and service performance.
- Build positive relationships across Manufacturing, Facilities, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Quality, Inventory Control, and EHS while serving as the primary point of contact for operational and inventory-related blocking issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience within warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, military, or industrial environments.
- 3+ years of experience in material handling, inventory control, receiving, shipping, warehouse operations, or supply chain functions in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Working knowledge of inventory management practices, material traceability, warehouse safety requirements, and operational processes.
- Experience applying ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or inventory management platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting semiconductor, chemical, gas, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials transportation, storage, and applicable regulatory requirements, including DOT, OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations.
- Experience leading teams responsible for chemical inventory accuracy, receiving, shipping, material traceability, and audit readiness.
- 2+ years of experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 6S, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze operational metrics, drive process improvements, strengthen safety culture, and support business and customer objectives.
