About this role

JOB OVERVIEW

This year round position is responsible for the organization and implementation of day-to-day activities in the gymnastics program at our Boulder Point Facility located in Montgomery, IL.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

- Can be under 18 years of age and meet all applicable Illinois employment requirements for minors.

- Previous gymnastics experience preferred, either as a coach or gymnast.

- Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with children or participating in gymnastics, youth sports, recreation, or related activities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

- Basic comprehension of gymnastics skills and techniques.

- Ability to assist with gymnastics instruction and activities under the direction of the Coordinator and/or upper-level coaching staff.

- Ability to follow instructions and implement changes or requests from coordinators and upper-level coaching staff.

- Ability to work appropriately and professionally with children and program participants.

- Understanding of the principles of customer service.

- Good oral and written communication skills.

- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a gymnastics staff team.

- Must obtain and maintain CPR, AED, First Aid, and DCFS Certifications, as applicable to the position and age requirements.

- Understand and exhibit behavior consistent with stated values of the District.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist with teaching gymnastics programs under the direction and supervision of the Gymnastics Coordinator and/or upper-level coaching staff.

- Assist with demonstrations, activities, and instruction appropriate to the employee's level of training and experience.

- Assist with the supervision and engagement of gymnastics participants.

- Assist in the planning and execution of open gyms and special events.

- Assist in preparing and maintaining the gymnastics area and equipment.

- Assist in marketing and promoting the gymnastics program.

- Serve in a professional and courteous manner with the highest regard to the customer.

- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.

- Follow all safety procedures and instructions provided by supervisory staff.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator and/or supervisor.

Evenings and weekends

Rate:
$17-$19/hr DOE
