Job Description

The Product & Package Assurance Scientist is responsible for the end-to-end execution of consumer experience benchmarking studies to deliver accurate, decision-ready results that maintain & strengthen in-market product and package performance. This role owns delivery of excellent study operations, from setup and fieldwork through analysis and final deliverables, ensuring each study meets program quality standards, timelines, and budget expectations.  Their work produces clean outputs that will be used confidently by R&D to drive product and package experience improvements. ​

Overview of the CX Product & Package Assurance Team

The CX Product Insights Product & Package Assurance Team maintains & strengthens in-market product and packaging performance by translating consumer experience signals into clear direction that R&D and cross-functional partners can use to improve products. Their benchmarking program provides consistent, comparable measurement of product and packaging experiences to identify performance gaps, diagnose drivers, and track improvement over time.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

- ​​​Execute benchmarking studies end-to-end, from study setup through final delivery, in line with the program’s testing plan and quality standards.

- ​Finalize study materials and logistics, including screener and questionnaire finalization, product procurement & review, supplier communications, and end-to-end fieldwork/shipping/technical analysis coordination.

- ​Through robust vendor partnerships, manage day-to-day supplier execution to ensure strong fieldwork coordination, on-time delivery, and clear issue escalation

- ​Analyze study outputs and synthesize the “so what” and experience drivers for R&D and product development decision-making.

- ​Maintain tight budget tracking for assigned studies and reconcile planned vs. actual spend.

- ​Share results and implications with brand-owning partners and internal stakeholders (Consumer Experience team, Product Development partners, CX Associate Directors).

- ​Top outcomes: 100% of the testing plan completed with rigor; data analyzed with insights/experience drivers understood; budget tracked accurately.​

- ​Manage individual projects and workstreams with attention to prioritization, documentation, and stakeholder communication.

- ​Ensure compliance with data integrity and privacy requirements.​

Expected Experience & Required Skills

- ​​Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Food Science, Physical Science, Consumer Behavior/Psychology, Industrial Design, or Marketing with a strong consumer research focus, with a minimum 2 year of relevant experience, or Master’s with 1 year, or PhD with no relevant experience in consumer/product research or consumer experience roles supporting product development; CPG experience preferred, food & beverage a plus.

- ​Proven ability to execute consumer testing end-to-end (planning through reporting) with familiarity of common research, survey/testing, and analysis platforms.

- ​Foundational qualitative and quantitative research skills: study design, instrument development, synthesis, and storytelling.

- ​Growing ability to translate consumer learning into direction that informs product and package decisions.

- ​Strong operational discipline: prioritization, attention to detail, logistics, vendor/supplier management, and on-time delivery.

- ​Budget tracking and attention to detail across multiple concurrent studies.

- ​Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a matrixed environment.

- ​Clear written and verbal communication; ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

- ​Ability to manage multiple priorities under guidance.​

Work Environment & Schedule

New Hire Base Salary Range:
$77,800.00 - $97,300.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
