You will support Aegis Combat System Integration Testing for DDG-51 class ships as a Test Director as part of the Aegis Modernization Team – San Diego (AMT – SD).

The Test Director plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing. Provides test area with parameters and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, or new testing requirements.

Develops an integrated test schedule to ensure the integration and testing of weapons systems aboard AEGIS ships while undergoing Modernization at multiple continental United States and international locations.

Provides AEGIS Combat System operations and testing expertise in support of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division, with emphasis on the testing and evaluation of the AEGIS Weapon System Modernization and all connecting system interfaces.

Active involvement and supervision in the scheduling, preparation, performance and functional evaluation of weapon system testing, as well as support system readiness and availability. Schedules, coordinates and ensures the availability of Special Test Equipment for testing in all warfare areas both in-port and at-sea.

Review test procedures, coordinate support services to perform tests, document results in the form of written reports such as Final Test Reports or other formats mandated by the government representatives.

Provide guidance and training to ship's force and government customer personnel in establishing operational testing procedures and techniques.

Guide the successful completion of major test programs and may function in a project leadership role.

Effective communications with all levels of management within the Navy and with outside activities, both government personnel and contractors will be required for successful coordination of each project's testing cycle.

Analyze weapon system failures to determine cause and recommend corrective action.

Basic Qualifications

* Must have ability to anticipate, identify, mitigate and solve problems and challenges relating to critical path production and testing before reaching a critical point.
* Experience in the functional testing and operations of the AEGIS Weapon System, to include various AEGIS Baseline configurations.
* Travel of approximately 50% required on an annual basis. This may include international travel.
* Occasional shift work may be required.
* Required to provide field support on military vessels for several consecutive days while at-sea.
* This position requires work on Naval Vessels, both in-port and underway. Employee will be expected to work in confined spaces and climb ladders and steep stairs.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Project, Excel, PPT, Word).
* Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, which includes U.S. citizenship.

Desired Skills

* Five years of AEGIS Weapon System operations or maintenance experience in a field support environment.
* Graduate of formal Navy school incorporating either the operation or maintenance of AEGIS related systems.
* Prior Naval AEGIS CIC Combat Systems Coordinator, Combat Systems Maintenance Manager, CIC Watch Officer, or Training Supervisor experience.
* Prior experience accomplishing support tasks within a naval shipyard environment.
* Thorough understanding of AEGIS Weapon System test practices to include digital, mechanical, microwave radiation, alignment and collimation.
* Exceptional ability to brief and influence senior Navy/defense leadership on test program status, risks, and decisions with clarity, brevity, and strategic impact.
* Proven experience leading cross-functional, matrix-aligned teams to motivate personnel, align priorities, and drive mission success in complex testing integration environments.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00
