About this role

Eos Lightmedia is seeking a Q-SYS Programmer to assist in the creation of AV projects for a diverse range of clients in the museum, theme park, and immersive experience sector. The programmer will play a pivotal role in all phases of AV projects, from initial concept through estimation, design, and implementation, including bid build-style projects. The individual should

have a passion for the latest AV technologies, be creative, collaborative, and have a deep understanding of the technical and logistical aspects of large-scale AV Projects.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Collaborate with multidisciplinary creative and technical teams to interpret design intent, implement functional control solutions, and ensure AV designs achieve user experience goals and operational reliability.

● Provide technical insight on system architecture, control logic, device selection, and integration strategies to enhance overall performance and system reliability.

● Plan and develop Q-SYS Designer file schematic pages and UCI layouts that adhere to company and project standards.

● Oversee the installation, FAT/SAT testing, and commissioning of AV and Q-SYS systems, coordinating directly with Show System Architects and Network Engineers to ensure reliable performance against design specifications.

● Create and maintain comprehensive programming documentation, including flowcharts, trigger schedules, code libraries, version control, and system manuals.

● Provide end-user training on system operation and maintenance.

● Work with the sales and quotations teams to budget AV systems across various project phases.

● Work with the Service and Support team to offer ongoing technical support and system updates.

● Other duties as required to assist the Eos Lightmedia team in the day-to-day operation of the business.

Requirements

● Q-SYS Level 2, Q-SYS Level 3 Preferred.

● Strong understanding of industry protocols, including DMX, sACN, TCP/IP, UDP, and AV

over IP.

● Ability to read and interpret design, installation, and system drawings and diagrams.

● Proven experience in AV design or integration, preferably within the museum, theme

park, or similar industry.

● Strong knowledge of the latest AV technologies, including digital media, projection,

audio, lighting, and control systems.

● Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate

complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

● Strong problem-solving abilities to develop and deliver creative, innovative solutions.

● Self-motivated and deadline-driven, adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously

in high-pressure environments.

● Experience with media server and other playback device implementation and

programming (Pixera, Medialon, BrightSign, QLab, TouchDesigner, etc)

● Proficiency with design software (e.g., Vectorworks, AutoCAD, Revit, Q-SYS) an asset.

● A professional certification such as CTS-D (Certified Technology Specialist – Design) or

similar would be advantageous.

● Must hold a valid passport and be willing to travel

● A valid US or Canadian driver’s license
