SAIC is hiring for a Software Configuration Management (CM) Manager for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) PMA-275 Software Support Activity (SSA) for the V-22 Osprey. The software CM manager will work as part of the PMA-275 government Software Integrated Product Team (IPT) responsible for modifying aircraft and ground system software to correct defects, implement new capability, and improve aircraft readiness and maintainability. As part of the PMA-275 software team, the software CM manager will work closely with Government and Industry software suppliers as well as the Fleet Support Team and fleet maintainers to ensure critical aircraft software is controlled and distributed across the V-22 fleet.
The Software CM manager provides leadership of end-to-end Tactical System Software (TSS) release operations. This includes oversight of software configuration processes, initial build generation, internal laboratory testing, flight test support, validation and verification activities, and fleet software distribution. The Software CM manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the warfighter has access to the latest aircraft and ground system software capabilities.
This role is located in Indianapolis, IN; Must be local to area.
JOB DUTIES:
- Direct Release Team CM activities to produce software builds in accordance with established schedules, processes, and quality standards.
- Advise SSA Engineering and Software IPT leadership on software configuration matters, release readiness, technical and schedule impacts, risks, and other time-sensitive concerns to support informed V-22 software release decisions.
- Partner with V-22 SSA Engineers, IPTs, and industry partners to identify, update, and maintain Tactical System Software configurations.
- Maintain current and accurate V-22 software configuration records.
- Serve as the primary owner for V-22 software configuration documentation, ensuring both fleet and flight test configuration authorizations are accurate, current, controlled, and distributed to support fleet operations and flight test activities.
- Coordinate with flight test activities to forecast upcoming software releases and flight test requirements.
- Monitor fleet software-release compliance and provide status updates to leadership.
- Partner with Fleet Service Teams to provide software triage and troubleshooting support for fleet software configuration and loading issues.
- Collaborate with V-22 software engineers across IPTs, industry partners, and subject-matter experts to draft Engineering Change Proposal documentation supporting V-22 software suite releases.
- Update, maintain, and continuously improve internal software configuration management and release standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure current, consistent, and effective execution of V-22 software release processes.
- Occasional travel may be required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors in Business, Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering and five (5) years or more relevant experience in configuration management; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start
- Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
