Job Title: Student Coordinator

Location: Greater South Side ( 7522 South Greenwood Avenue, 60619)

Reports to : Program Manager 
 
Job Summary

The Student Coordinator ensures that students and families feel welcome and safe in our Program.  They assist the Program Manager by making sure the classroom space is set up and efficient for learning and by supervising students to ensure orderly transitions.
 
Responsibilities

- Classroom set up and tear down
- Collect donated items from families at the door and track service hours
- Greet families and students, interact with them in ways that align with our TPMS values, particularly our value of Community
- Check in students when they arrive and guide them to the correct location
- Check students out when they leave and guide them to their parent/guardian
- Supervise students on bathroom breaks and assist with student transitions between classes
- Communicate with the Program Manager to inform them of any concerns families may bring to their attention
- Assist with other projects as assigned
 
Qualifications

- High School diploma required
- Collaborative team member
- Understanding of a busy school environment
- Experience supervising young children
- Extremely reliable with consistent attendance and maintain a high level of professionalism
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Must pass Chicago Public Schools background check
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven experience collaborating and working  with people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds

Physical Demands

- Ascend/descend stairs
- Move equipment and instruments weighing up to 35 lbs.
- Tolerance of prolonged and continuous stationary periods at a desk/computer
 
Schedule

- Part-time position - 20 hours per week, with some evenings and weekends required for events
