About the Role
The Edibles Kitchen Manager is responsible for the leadership, performance, compliance, and daily operation of Golden Grail Group’s licensed cannabis edibles kitchen. This position oversees production planning, team development, food safety and sanitation, product quality, inventory controls, documentation, and adherence to applicable OLCC, METRC, company, and facility requirements.

The Kitchen Manager translates production priorities into clear daily execution, develops an accountable and safety-focused team, and ensures edible products are produced consistently, efficiently, and to established recipes and quality standards. This role serves as the primary on-site leader for kitchen operations and is expected to exercise sound judgment, communicate proactively, and escalate material operational, employee-relations, safety, quality, or compliance matters as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of daily edibles kitchen operations and establish clear expectations for safety, quality, compliance, productivity, cleanliness, and professional conduct.
- Plan and coordinate daily and weekly production schedules based on inventory needs, sales demand, staffing, ingredient availability, and operational priorities.
- Supervise, train, coach, and develop kitchen and production employees; assign work, monitor performance, and reinforce consistent production standards and procedures.
- Partner with Human Resources and Operations leadership on hiring, onboarding, scheduling, attendance, performance management, employee relations, and staffing needs.
- Ensure recipes, formulations, batch procedures, portioning, and production methods are followed consistently to support product quality, potency, yield, and repeatability.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of applicable OLCC requirements, METRC procedures, company SOPs, food-safety practices, sanitation standards, and regulated cannabis production requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of production records, batch documentation, ingredient usage, cannabis inputs, waste records, transfers, inventory adjustments, and required METRC activity.
- Coordinate testing, packaging, labeling, and product movement with Quality, Packaging, Warehouse, Distribution, and other operational teams as applicable.
- Monitor raw materials, ingredients, packaging supplies, and cannabis inputs; communicate purchasing or replenishment needs and help prevent production delays or shortages.
- Maintain inventory integrity through accurate counts, storage practices, lot/batch tracking, discrepancy research, waste controls, and timely documentation.
- Ensure kitchen equipment, tools, workstations, storage areas, and production spaces remain clean, sanitary, organized, safe, and audit-ready.
- Oversee opening, closing, cleaning, sanitation, equipment-use, temperature-control, allergen-awareness, and other kitchen safety procedures established by the Company.
- Monitor production output, labor utilization, yields, waste, quality concerns, and other performance indicators; identify opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Investigate and escalate product-quality concerns, production discrepancies, safety events, equipment issues, inventory variances, or potential compliance concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Compliance, Packaging, Distribution, and other departments to execute production priorities and resolve operational issues.
- Represent Golden Grail Group with integrity, accountability, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safe and compliant cannabis manufacturing.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess and maintain a valid OLCC Marijuana Worker Permit as required for the position.
- Three or more years of progressive commercial kitchen, food manufacturing, production, or comparable operations experience.
- Two or more years of supervisory or management experience, including employee coaching, scheduling, training, and operational decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a production team, establish accountability, manage competing priorities, and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of kitchen sanitation, food handling, workplace safety, production consistency, and quality-control practices.
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate production and inventory records in a regulated environment.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and ability to learn company inventory, production, scheduling, communication, and compliance systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive production tasks, including lifting and moving materials and supplies, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous management experience in a licensed cannabis edibles kitchen, commercial food-production facility, bakery, confectionery operation, or other regulated manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of OLCC cannabis regulations and METRC tracking requirements related to production, inventory, transfers, and waste.
- Experience with edible production, recipe scaling, batch consistency, production yields, food safety, sanitation programs, and quality-control processes.
- Experience managing labor, production schedules, inventory, purchasing needs, waste reduction, and operational performance metrics.
- Experience developing frontline employees and building clear training and accountability systems.
Schedule & Work Location
- This is an on-site production position and does not offer remote work opportunities.
- Schedule flexibility may be required based on production needs, staffing, deadlines, and operational priorities.
