About this role
As a Senior Software Development Engineer (IC3), you will design, build, and operate core components of OCI’s streaming infrastructure, with a strong focus on scalability, resiliency, and low-latency performance in distributed environments. You will own features end-to-end, participating in the full software lifecycle—from requirements and design to implementation, deployment, monitoring, and production support—while contributing to a platform that operates at large scale and serves critical customer workloads.
We are looking for engineers who enjoy building efficient systems and learning how to run them reliably in production. This includes building and optimizing request handling layers, gateways, and network-facing services using technologies such as Netty-based async servers, event-driven frameworks (e.g., Vert.x), and distributed gateway architectures. You bring solid programming skills in languages such as Java and Python, a strong foundation in distributed systems concepts, and the ability to debug complex issues using logs, metrics, and telemetry. In this role, you will collaborate closely with experienced engineers, improve reliability and automation through better tooling and CI/CD, and help balance trade-offs between latency, throughput, and resource utilization. This position offers meaningful technical ownership, exposure to large-scale cloud systems, and a clear growth path toward technical leadership.
- -Design and build scalable data plane components (gateways, ingestion/delivery paths, partition routing) using async frameworks such as Netty or Vert.x.
- -Own features end-to-end—from design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- -Troubleshoot and resolve production issues using logs, metrics, and tracing; drive strong root cause analysis.
- -Optimize system performance by balancing latency, throughput, and resource utilization at cloud scale.
- -Improve reliability and automation through CI/CD enhancements, observability, and operational tooling.e.
