Job Summary
At the Cooley Dickinson Emergency Department, we care for approximately 35,000 patients each year. Our team is committed to providing high-quality, compassionate, and timely emergency care to every patient we serve.

Our Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), including Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, work collaboratively with board-certified emergency medicine physicians and an experienced multidisciplinary team. APPs care for patients of all ages and acuity levels across the Emergency Department, managing a broad range of chief complaints, performing procedures and medical screening exams, and responding to changes in patients’ clinical conditions.

APPs also have opportunities to teach APP students and participate in our dedicated educational program designed to support continued clinical development. Our broader Emergency Department team includes physicians, emergency nurses trained in trauma care, advanced cardiac life support, and pediatric life support, as well as technicians, administrative staff, and patient observers.

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our Emergency Department at the Cooley Dickinson Main Campus, located at 30 Locust Street in Northampton, Massachusetts.

APPs work a combination of day, evening/night, and weekend shifts. Commitment to the departmental weekend rotation is required (typically ~4 shifts per quarter, but subject to change). APPs are also expected to cover one major and one minor holiday annually.

Option 2: Weekend Schedule
Weekend hours are defined as 7:00 PM Friday through 7:00 AM Monday. APPs who commit to working 24 or more weekend hours per week are eligible for a $25,000 annual shift commitment bonus. APPs interested in maintaining a full 40-hour schedule may supplement their weekend commitment with an additional weekday shift. APPs are also expected to cover one major and one minor holiday annually.
