Named Account Executive – Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)

Our Enterprise Public Sector team focuses on working with exciting existing and growing organizations across the US Federal Government.

Day to Day

Our Named Enterprise Account Executives engage with existing customers and new leads to sell the entire Salesforce 360 platform. They build positive, trusted relationships with both key team members and executive/SES-level decision-makers within their patch, becoming natural partners in helping agencies realize full value from their Salesforce investments.

You will leverage your domain expertise and network within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to develop opportunities through strategic account growth and whitespace prospecting.

- Relationship Building & Strategic Alignment: Establish, maintain, and deepen trusted relationships with key VA stakeholders, SES leaders, program managers, and procurement officials to align technology solutions with the agency’s strategic mission objectives.
- Account Strategy & Execution: Assist with the development and execution of an overall long-term account strategy specifically tailored to VA initiatives, modernization priorities, and operational requirements.
- Cross-Functional Team Orchestration: Coordinate internal resources—including product support, customer success, enterprise architects, and sales engineering—to deliver cohesive solutions that address complex VA business needs.
- Territory & Pipeline Management: Define and execute account plans for the assigned VA territory to consistently meet and exceed sales quotas through proactive prospecting, qualification, pipeline management, and contract closing.
- Opportunity Lifecycle Navigation: Manage and advance multiple complex federal procurement opportunities simultaneously through the sales pipeline, navigating government buying cycles, contract vehicles, and partner ecosystems.

Required Experience

- 7+ years of quota-carrying software or technology sales and account management experience selling into large enterprise US Federal Civilian Accounts, with a proven focus on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) .
- Deep Domain & Relationship Network: Established network of key relationships across VA decision-makers, stakeholders, system integrators (SIs), and federal partner networks supporting the agency.
- Federal Procurement Acumen: Strong understanding of VA procurement processes, mission goals, current IT modernization programs, and applicable federal contracting vehicles.
- Matrixed Teamwork: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members (Solution Engineers, Sales Leaders, Services Executives, and Alliance Partners) in a matrixed enterprise environment.
- Execution & Drive: Highly driven, self-motivated individual with a strong sense of urgency and track record of exceeding revenue targets in public sector enterprise sales.
- Consultative & Technical Aptitude: A strong mix of business curiosity and technical/data acumen to credibly address complex agency data challenges, security requirements, and digital transformation goals.
- Solution Selling Expertise: Demonstrated track record of solution selling—developing strategic account plans, articulating business value, and navigating complex agency buying hierarchies to close enterprise deals.
- Industry Experience: Direct experience selling enterprise software, SaaS, or cloud platform technologies into federal civilian agencies.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required (evaluations consider core competencies developed via military service, industry experience, and leadership roles).

At Salesforce, we believe in equitable compensation practices that reflect the dynamic nature of labor markets across various regions.

The typical base salary range for this position is $141,550 - $189,350 annually

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations. In California and New York, and select cities in the metropolitan areas of Boston, Chicago, Seattle, and Washington DC, the base pay range for this role in those locations is $155,700 - $208,300 per year. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
