About the role

This is a uniquely rewarding opportunity to lead and coordinate Wellways' organisational approach to accreditation, compliance and internal audit, supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality services across one of Australia's leading mental health, disability and community services providers.

As our Accreditation and Compliance Lead, you will provide specialist advice and coordination across Wellways to strengthen accreditation readiness, monitor compliance, support internal audit activities and provide assurance that relevant legislative, regulatory, contractual and accreditation requirements are being effectively addressed.

Working across service delivery and corporate functions, you will partner with leaders and teams to interpret complex requirements, identify risks and gaps, coordinate corrective actions and translate accreditation and compliance requirements into practical organisational improvements.

About you
You are an experienced quality, accreditation, compliance or audit professional who can confidently navigate complex standards, legislation and regulatory requirements and translate them into practical action.

You will bring a sophisticated and methodical approach to analysing evidence, identifying risk and providing clear advice and recommendations. You are comfortable working across multiple teams and with senior stakeholders, and can constructively challenge, influence and support others while maintaining sound professional judgement.

Experience within mental health, disability, aged care, AOD or community services will be highly regarded, along with knowledge of relevant accreditation and regulatory frameworks. Experience working across multiple frameworks or jurisdictions, or lead auditor training, would be particularly valuable.

To be successful in this role, you will need

- Tertiary qualifications in quality, audit, risk, compliance, health, human services or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience coordinating accreditation, certification, compliance and/or internal audit activities within health, mental health, disability, aged care, AOD or community services
- Experience interpreting and applying relevant standards and legislative, regulatory and contractual requirements
- Demonstrated experience undertaking audits, self-assessments, gap analyses, corrective actions or quality improvement activities
- Strong analytical, written communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop clear reports, briefings and recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence senior stakeholders to achieve organisation-wide outcomes
- Willingness and ability to travel to Wellways locations as required
- Satisfactory completion and maintenance of relevant employment screening requirements, including National Police Check, Working with Children Check, Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Right to work in Australia

Highly regarded:

- Lead auditor training or demonstrated knowledge of recognised audit principles and methods
- Experience working across multiple accreditation or regulatory frameworks and/or jurisdictions
- Lived or living experience of mental health, disability or caring

# Job Description Summary
The Accreditation and Compliance Lead provides specialist leadership, coordination and advice across Wellways to maintain safe, high-quality services and meet relevant accreditation, legislative, regulatory and contractual requirements.

The role leads and coordinates accreditation, internal audit and compliance activities across the organisation, including organisational readiness, compliance monitoring, corrective action and assurance reporting. The role provides expert advice on complex requirements, assesses evidence and risk, identifies emerging issues and recommends practical responses to strengthen compliance and quality.

Working across service delivery and corporate functions, the role supports accountable leaders to understand and fulfil their quality and compliance responsibilities, while maintaining appropriate independence and professional judgement. The role provides assurance to leaders and governance committees through accurate reporting, analysis of themes and risks, and escalation of significant or unresolved matters.

This role may be based at any Wellways office, with regular connection to teams and services across our locations. Travel is required to support accreditation activities and internal and external audits, build strong relationships and understand how our systems operate in practice. Travel frequency will reflect accreditation schedules, service needs and operational requirements. Some flexibility in work location may be available where operational needs allow, at the discretion of the people leader.
